DESCRIPTION:Come along and learn more about nature-led recovery at Heal’s first rewilding site\, Heal Somerset. \nHeal Somerset began its recovery from its ecologically depleted state at the beginning of 2023 and nature here is already beginning to bounce back. This tour is a unique opportunity to spend time with Heal’s co-founder and acting CEO\, Jan Stannard\, who will take you around part of our beautiful site on mown paths. \nYou will learn more around the wider context of rewilding\, including the reasons we need it and the benefits it brings to nature\, the climate and to our own wellbeing. Jan will talk about the rewilding principles that Heal follows and give you an insight into some of our plans for the land\, particularly the interventions we’re considering and our plans for future livestock introductions. The group will also hear about some of the changes we have seen on the site already\, including the very welcome appearance of wild-living beavers. \nYou will also hopefully experience some of the varied wildlife we have on site\, but even if the creatures are elusive on the day\, we know you will still find the site a beautiful\, peaceful and restorative place to be. \nYour tour will finish with refreshments in our 17th century farmhouse where conversations about rewilding and Heal can continue.

DESCRIPTION:Nexus brings three artists together for a diverse exhibition of work\, examining different styles that share commonalities through their collective interpretation of colour\, composition\, and form. \nThis exhibition combines different approaches to contemporary art under one roof. Influenced by our individual experiences and ways of portraying the world\, Mark Elliott Smith\, Bernard Charnley and Kate Cochrane\, collaborate and provoke our perspectives and insights into specific genres. \nMark Elliott Smith’s work brings something new to abstraction. Inspired by dance and costume\, mediaeval art\, and his response to music\, he builds images which are analogues of the process of construction and destruction\, fragmentation and coherence. Painting in layers of flat acrylic colour\, his work animates space while creating the illusion of depth\, imparting an energising\, positive sense of possibility through his playful use of colour and form. \nBernard Charnley combines layered oil paint with oil bars and inserted sections of canvas\, creating work which moves between abstraction and figuration\, examining the relationships between geometry\, surface\, depth\, and illusion as imprints of the human. His interest in philosophy informs his portfolio of work\, which reflects on the nature of social fracture. \nKate Cochrane works in a variety of media\, including oils\, acrylics\, gouache\, and dry pastels. No experience is needed — just curiosity and a sense of adventure. DESCRIPTION:An invitation to spend a half-day working with our team in our permaculture produce garden. Learn regenerative growing skills whilst actively contributing to our permaculture projects. \nThe day is designed to be an enriching experience working with us on tasks ranging from creating living willow structures to building hugelkultur beds\, from threshing quinoa to sowing and harvesting fruit and veg. There will be an opportunity for meditation\, sharing and nature connection. \nAt 1pm we will end with a simple shared lunch provided by 42 Acres (think nourishing soup and bread). Afterwards\, you’re welcome to stay and explore our land or take a wild dip in our lake. \nPlease Note: \n-These sessions run on the 1st Wed of every month\, Apr-Sep.\n-Booking opens 30 days in advance. We will walk in the footsteps of those Celtic ancestors\, and echoing their veneration of Springs and Rivers – a recognition of the sacred power of water\, we’ll perform a short blessing at each Spring. \nWhat is the difference between a Walk and a Pilgrimage? Primarily\, it is about intention: walking the old tracks becomes a spiritual act when walked with intention – by doing so we help to preserve and strengthen those ancient songlines…….the Earth re-awakens to our heartfelt care\, and we are healed in return. \nWhilst led by an experienced Druid Ceremonialist\, this is an inclusive walk\, welcoming of all faiths and none.
