Music in Country Churches was set up in 1989 to organise concerts of exceptional music in rural churches and is particularly keen to give concert opportunities to young and emerging performers. Following each concert\, a donation is made to the church to help with maintaining the building and carrying out essential repairs. Tickets cost £20 (General Admission\, first-come-first-seated). DESCRIPTION:Raging Speedhorn formed in 1998 in Corby\, Northamptonshire\, merging members of Box and Soulcellar into a ferocious force of sludge\, metal\, and hardcore. Known for their dual-vocal attack—John Loughlin’s guttural growl alongside Frank Regan’s raw intensity\, the band quickly built a reputation for chaotic\, high-energy live shows. \nAfter the release of their self-titled debut (2000) and We Will Be Dead Tomorrow (2002)\, which saw “The Gush” enter the UK charts\, the band toured relentlessly with acts like Rammstein\, Slipknot\, and Biohazard\, and played major festivals including Ozzfest\, Reading\, and Download. Their third album\, How the Great Have Fallen (2005)\, preceded lineup changes and a fourth release\, Before the Sea Was Built (2007)\, before they disbanded in 2008. \nReforming in 2014\, the band returned with renewed energy\, headlining stages at Sonisphere and Damnation Festival\, and releasing Lost Ritual (2016) and Hard to Kill (2020)\, the latter charting across UK rock and indie rankings. They’ve since toured extensively across the UK and Europe with bands like Sepultura\, Napalm Death\, and Skindred\, and appeared at major festivals including Wacken. \nIn 2024\, Raging Speedhorn released their latest record\, continuing their legacy of uncompromising heaviness. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all-standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. DESCRIPTION:The Phoenix Project – Summer Holiday Art Sessions\n9:30am – 3:00pm | Ages 7–14 | £30 per session\nAvailable dates:\nMonday 3rd & Tuesday 4th August\nMonday 10th & Tuesday 11th August\nMonday 17th & Tuesday 18th August\nThursday 27th & Friday 28th August \nSpend a day getting creative in the most inspiring of settings! Join us at The Phoenix Project — a beautiful acre of land with woodland\, cabins\, hammocks and a stream — for a full day of art\, nature and adventure this summer. \nEach session\, young people aged 7–14 will explore a different artistic medium in the great outdoors\, from willow weaving and mosaic to batik and natural mandalas. No experience is needed — just curiosity and a sense of adventure. Our sessions are designed to inspire creativity in every child\, whatever their background or ability.\nAs well as making amazing art\, there’ll be campfires\, outdoor games and plenty of time to explore the site. We ask everyone to bring a packed lunch\, and there are compost loos on site.\nWhat to bring:\n🎒 Packed lunch and plenty to drink\n👕 Old clothes you don’t mind getting messy \nSessions run from 9:30am to 3:00pm.
