SUMMARY:Dub Pistols
DESCRIPTION:From their roots in the 90s big beat explosion to becoming one of the UK’s most electrifying live bands\, Dub Pistols have spent nearly three decades fusing dub\, ska\, hip-hop\, reggae\, jungle\, and drum & bass into their unmistakable sound. With ten albums\, countless festival appearances\, and a reputation for chaos-driven live shows\, Barry Ashworth and the Pistols remain unstoppable. \nNow they’re stepping into a new chapter with Enter The Tour – the band’s first ever self-promoted tour. Independent and straight from the source\, this run promises to be one of their wildest yet. Expect special guests throughout\, fresh tracks from their new album Enter The Sound\, and all the heavy bass\, blazing brass\, and high-energy madness that makes the Dub Pistols legendary. \nCareer Highlights: \n\nFestival legends at Glastonbury\, Boomtown\, Bestival\, Electric Castle\, Beat Hearder + more\n10 studio albums\, from 1998’s Point Blank to 2025’s Enter The Sound\nCollaborations with Terry Hall (The Specials)\, Horace Andy (Massive Attack)\, Rodney P\, Akala + more\nHuge remixes for Moby\, The Crystal Method\, and Ian Brown\nFounders of their own festival\, Mucky Weekender\nChampions of mental health advocacy through Barry Ashworth’s Flying Circus\n\nWhat to Expect on Enter The Tour \n– Bass-heavy beats\, brass-fuelled chaos\, and full-throttle energy\n– New music from Enter The Sound alongside festival anthems\n–  Special guests and surprise collaborations\n–  A DIY\, independent tour that puts fans front and centre \nBe part of the chaos. \nSUPPORT FROM – LAID BLAK \nLaid Blak represent the quintessential Bristol music story\, celebrating 20 years in the business this year\, they have deservedly cemented themselves not just in Bristol’s honorary list but extremely thought after right across the UK. 2022 saw the band win Reggae Album of the Year voted by the people and awarded by the UK Reggae Fraternity\, for its release of ‘From the Vaults’. The single release ‘Golden’ from the album was show cased on many radio stations most notably on BBC 6 Music with Craig Charles a big advocate. Formed from the partnership of Bristol producer DJ Bunjy and MC Joe Peng\, two legends of the rave and proto-Jungle scenes\, the pair spent the 90’s causing havoc on dance floors in the biggest raves around the country\, performing for the era defining party brands and popping up on all the essential tape packs. \nBuilding on their successful rave wrecking partnership\, the pair began to look for a new musical direction and like many of Bristol’s most loved musical exports\, they drew inspiration from the melting pot that is Bristol music\, which of course has Reggae and Soundsystem culture at its core. What began as a studio project\, found them seeking out some of the most impressive musicians the city has to offer and Laid Blak was formed.

SUMMARY:The Gift of Water: A story of kindness and unkindness in Frome\, past\, present and future
DESCRIPTION:The Gift of Water. A story of kindness and unkindness in Frome\, past\, present and future. \nJayne Sadgrove (Chair\, Frome Society) with Simon Keyes \nOur taps now give us drinking water. We take it for granted. \nBut it took over ten years for town leaders to agree that Frome needed piped drinking water in the 1870s. Learn why people denied that a clean water supply was needed. Surely it was obvious? \nDiscover how our predecessors managed to provide water for their families\, for drinking\, cooking and washing. There are visible traces around our town.\nAccess to clean water is vital for health. How can we ensure drinking water is freely available to all in our town today? \nThis special evening is a first-ever collaboration between the Kindness Festival and the Frome Society. It will consist of a presentation followed by an interval\, discussion and Q&A. Wine and soft drinks will be available for purchase. It will also be possible to participate online.

SUMMARY:Frome Kindness Festival - Rob Hopkins
DESCRIPTION:The world feels so profoundly unkind right now. But is that how it’s always going to be? \nWould a society rooted in kindness be a better way to reach the kind of future we all long to see? Transition movement founder\, time traveller and author Rob Hopkins will give the 2026 Kindness Festival lecture in which he will take us on a journey to visit the future that resulted from our placing kindness at the heart of policy\, economics and society. \nHe will share with us things he saw there\, stories he heard\, and what it felt like to be there. As bell hooks once put it\, “what we cannot imagine cannot come into being”. \nSo join him\, as he steps through the fabric of time\, taking us with him\, to immerse ourselves in a world built on kindness. You’ll be glad you went.

SUMMARY:Imagine more Kindness in Schools
DESCRIPTION:An evening for parents\, teachers\, and anyone concerned about bringing more kindness into schools and other learning environments. \nIn the first half of the evening\, Masha Kastner has generously agreed to be interviewed about her experience as the mother of a 13-year-old daughter\, Helena\, who took her own life in January 2024. Heli often asked: “Where is all this pressure coming from?” She deeply felt the weight of stress\, competition\, and unkindness in school\, and dreamed of a world where children were valued\, supported\, and free to be themselves. Masha and her partner David live in Trowbridge and in 2025 set up a new charity\, Kindwaves\, to take forward their vision of a world in which kindness comes first. \nIn the second half\, Melody Hunter-Evans will facilitate a discussion about the issues that have been raised\, and about how we can all imagine – and bring about – more kindness in schools. \nKindwaves is a new charity\, advocating for cultures of kindness in all learning environments\, to address the ongoing crisis of wellbeing for children\, young people\, families and educators. Kindwaves supports schools towards improving wellbeing\, engagement\, behaviour and staff sustainability by strengthening the relational systems that underpin learning. Using Participatory Action Research and consultancy\, Kindwaves works collaboratively\, enabling schools to identify and address cultural challenges with their community\, creating voice and agency: www.kindwaves.org.uk \nMelody Hunter-Evans is the Children and Young Person’s Officer for Frome Town Council\, who are supporting this event. \nMasha will be interviewed by Martha Oster\, an artist and educator who is deputy Chair of Governors at Vallis School and a board member of The Good Heart. \nTea\, coffee & biscuits will be provided in the break

SUMMARY:Menkind video screening
DESCRIPTION:Another chance to see a short video with men in Frome talking about what kindness means to them\, followed by discussion. For men only. \nSometimes kindness can be perceived as a feminine virtue and we set out to challenge this by asking six men in Frome what kindness means to them. The results are surprising and highlight that “kindness” can take many forms and may be called by other names. Last year’s screening to a packed room in The Crown led to an amazing group dialogue in which men shared stories about unexpected act of kindness they had experienced. This is another chance to see the film and hopefully be part of a similar conversation between men.

SUMMARY:Harp Meditation with Vicki Burke
DESCRIPTION:A guided meditation\, accompanied by the beautiful sounds of the harp\, using the creative power of the imagination to build our future from the inside out. \nThis is an invitation to everyone\, whether you are an experienced meditator or complete beginner\, to enjoy a peaceful and inspiring evening designed to bring about positive change in your life. \nAccompanied by the beautiful sounds of the heart\, it will help you access a relaxed state of being in which much-needed healing can take place and in which you can explore your ideas\, hopes and dreams for the future. \nAs a group\, we will explore the idea that we all have the potential to take a thought or emotion\, like a seed\, and let it grow in our inner world. As we nurture this idea in our imagination\, journey with it\, and begin to see how we can turn it into reality\, then real magic happens. So many of us already do this with our fears\, so imagine what it would be like if we were just as accomplished at manifesting our dreams! \nAs we return from our imagined future way of being\, we may feel the pain of loss\, because it feels so far away. We will then be guided on how to turn that pain into resilience\, giving us the strength to trust that we can walk this path that we have laid down again and again\, in the days\, weeks\, and years that will follow. In this way we can create the future that we long for.

SUMMARY:Kindness to Ourselves Through Movement & Dance
DESCRIPTION:We probably danced before we talked. Moving our bodies is part of being kind to ourselves and brings us in contact with others and with our environment. Dance gives us the freedom to move and become more joyfully empowered. \nIn this Dance Event you are invited to participate in three very different styles of dance. We will start with the luxurious curves and fluid moves of the Middle East\, progress to connecting with the power and earthiness of Africa and finish with the calm and meditative moves of the Circle Dance\, a form of dance that stretches across continents and cultures\, and connects us both to our inner selves and to the world around us. \nWe invite you to join in the experience of all three dances as a journey in music and movement. It is also possible to join for just one or two sessions of the three. \nWear loose comfortable clothing that allows freedom of movement and soft shoes suitable for dancing \nBring a scarf large enough to tie round your hips for the Middle Eastern dance. \nThis event takes place at Rook Lane Chapel\, Bath Street\, Frome\, BA11 1DN.

SUMMARY:Calling in Your Spiritual Guides & Healing Masters with Ali Hutchinson
DESCRIPTION:We are never truly alone. \nEach of us is supported by intuitive guides\, spiritual allies\, and healing masters who are ready to work with us – if we are willing to soften our expectations and step into a space of feeling\, sensing\, and inner knowing. \nWe are made of energy.\nAnd when we consciously enter our own energetic and informational field\, we open ourselves to the innate wisdom of the universe – the subtle voices\, nudges\, intuitive beings and guides who are here to support\, guide\, and heal alongside us. \nThis workshop is an invitation to remember that connection. \nTogether\, we will journey through guided meditation to gently call in and feel into the guides that surround you. You’ll be supported to explore your natural psychic and intuitive abilities\, learning how to recognise guidance through sensation\, imagery\, emotion\, and inner knowing. \nWe’ll also explore how to work with your guides for healing – drawing on universal energy rather than depleting your own – allowing support to flow through you with ease and integrity. \nBy the end of the workshop\, you may experience: \nA clear image\, sensation\, or deep inner knowing of your guides \nA felt sense of how they communicate with you \nA greater trust in your intuitive and psychic abilities \nAnd perhaps even a name\, presence\, or personal connection to one or more of your guides \nThis is a gentle\, grounded space to listen\, remember\, and reconnect – opening the door to a deeper relationship with the unseen support that has always been there.

SUMMARY:Exploring Forgiveness - Barbara J Hunt at The Kindness Festival
DESCRIPTION:Forgiveness is something most of us struggle with. It can feel confusing\, impossible\, and often deeply unfair – but it’s also arguably the most powerful way to release the emotional\nburdens we carry. This introductory talk offers a fresh\, practical look at what forgiveness really is\, what it isn’t and how it can make a genuine difference to your mental and emotional health. \nIf you’re feeling stuck over old hurts\, anger\, or regret\, this session will introduce forgiveness as a practice to help you find deeper peace within. You’ll explore the impacts of forgiveness – on your mental\, emotional and physical wellbeing. Forgiveness is never about saying that what happened was okay; it’s about finding freedom and moving on from the past. \nWe’ll also talk about why forgiveness can be so hard\, and the most common obstacles that get in our way. You’ll leave with a clearer understanding of what helps and what doesn’t\, along\nwith simple ways to start practicing forgiveness in your own life. \nThis workshop is a practical way of imagining more kindness—for yourself\, for others\, and for the world around you. When you decide to let go of a resentment\, your heart lightens up\, and makes space so more love can flow through you and into your world.

SUMMARY:The Phogues – St Patricks Celebration
DESCRIPTION:In the mid to late 1980s\, The Pogues were one of the wildest and most talked-about bands of the era. They crashed punk rock headlong into Irish Folk\, lyrically ignited by singer/songwriter Shane MacGowan’s brutal yet romantic observations on life at the dog end of the Thatcher revolution. Full of spirit\, in both senses of the word\, there was simply no other band like them. \nWith a full line-up and the pick of the songs from five studio albums\, The Phogues pay tribute to the greatest Irish band that Ireland never produced. Like the original\, the eight members of the Phogues come from all over the place. Also like the Pogues\, some have Irish heritage; others don’t. What unites them is supreme musical skill and a desire to honour Shane’s songs and the band that gave them to the world. \nThe Phogues have live experience ranging from Somerset’s famous cider pubs to the internationally famous Sidmouth Folk Festival. They bring verve\, energy and authenticity to every show they play\, backed up by songs including ‘Sally McLennane’\, ‘The Irish Rover’\, ‘Thousands Are Sailing’\, ‘Streams Of Whiskey’ and\, of course\, the greatest Christmas song ever written\, ‘Fairytale of New York’ – which they’ll happily play even on a boiling hot summer’s Afternoon. \nThe Phogues will sweep your audience back to the days when Guinness was 50p a pint\, the racing was on the telly in the corner of the boozer and there was always an ‘oul fella’ at the bar\, sharing his wit and wisdom. Happy\, raucous times brought right into the present by no less than the best Pogues tribute band in the UK. \nAnd if you don’t believe us\, Shane MacGowan himself said of The Phogues\, “It’s brilliant.” \nPogue Mahone!!

It’s a wonderful opportunity to unleash your creativity\, engage with your community\, and celebrate the fun and artistry that Frome has to offer. Together\, we can turn the streets into a delightful outdoor gallery for everyone to enjoy! \nThis year we’re teaming up with the lovely folk at The Good Heart and running Frome Window Wanderland in conjunction with Frome Kindness Festival. That’s 8 full nights available for wandering. Teaming up with The Kindness Festival also fits nicely with the overall theme for Window Wanderlands throughout the country this year: ‘Hope’. You don’t have to use this theme for your window\, but if it sparks something for you do run with it. \nTaking part as a Windowmaker is FREE\, and everyone’s welcome. You can make a display in the windows of your flat\, house\, business\, school\, nursery\, car\, campervan\, shop – or your front garden! \nDon’t worry\, there’s no need to feel overwhelmed. Your setup can be as easy as placing a candle\, a book\, or some fairy lights in your window. Alternatively\, you could really get creative and put on a show in your living room! The possibilities are endless\, as long as it’s family friendly. \nFeeling inspired but not sure where to start?  Join one of our FREE workshops where we will show you some of the techniques you can use to create a window\, provide materials and help you get your window creation underway.  You can book into the workshops here: www.tickettailor.com/events/fromewindowwanderland  \nFurther workshops TBC\, please keep an eye on Frome Window Wanderland’s social media to be kept in the loop.
