Many adults and parents spend years trying to stay one step ahead of it: correcting\, compensating\, pushing harder\, or quietly wondering why everyday life seems to take so much effort. This workshop offers a gentler\, more supportive way forward. \nInstead of trying to outrun ADHD\, we’ll explore what it means to slow down\, understand it\, and lean into it – with curiosity\, compassion\, and respect for how ADHD brains are wired. \nThis workshop with new exercises every month is designed for adults with ADHD and parents raising children with ADHD\, and it recognises that ADHD shows up differently at every age\, yet carries many of the same emotional experiences: frustration\, overwhelm\, shame\, and also creativity\, empathy\, humour\, and resilience. Together\, we’ll look at ADHD not as something that needs to be fixed\, but as a difference that benefits from the right kind of support. \nThrough stories\, reflection\, and practical reframes\, participants will learn how many ADHD challenges are not signs of failure\, but signals – cues that the environment\, expectations\, or supports need adjusting. Grown ups only though sorry\, no children or babies. \nQigong (pronounced chee-gong) is a gentle mind–body practice from Chinese tradition that combines slow\, flowing movement\, breathing\, and focused attention to support health and wellbeing.\nIt’s often described as working with your “qi” (energy)—helping it move smoothly through the body.\nSessions can include:\nSoft\, rhythmic movements (similar to slow dance or Tai Chi)\nBreathwork to calm the nervous system\nStillness or meditation\nPeople use Qigong to improve balance\, flexibility\, relaxation\, and overall energy\, and it’s accessible to most abilities—even seated. \nJayne James is a Qigong instructor with a background in musculoskeletal health within the NHS\, which enhances and informs her approach to practice.\nHer practice is rooted in empowering individuals to take an active role in their wellbeing through breath\, movement and awareness.\nPracticing for over six years with a Grand Master and certified through intensive instructor programmes\, she guides flowing sessions that calm the mind\, release tension and restore balance within the body and emotions.\nShe currently teaches in her home village of Nunney supporting a diverse range of clients in cultivating resilience\, clarity and a deeper connection to themselves through this powerful\, meditative practice.

There are four half hour slots\, divided by age as follows: \n\n10am: Age 6 to 11 years\n10.30am: 6 to 11 years\n11am: 12 to 16 years\n11.30pm: 12 to 16 years\n\nThere is very limited room for walk-ups on the day\, within the age groups listed above\, but pre-booking is recommended to avoid disappointment. \nBring your own skateboard. Please note that helmets and protective equipment are compulsory: if you do not wear them you cannot take part. We will have limited kit to lend on the day.  \nAlthough every care will be taken for your safety\, and there will be a first aider at the event\, all skaters skate at their own risk and will be asked to sign a disclaimer to that effect before taking part.

DESCRIPTION:Children are like sponges\, on a subconscious level\, they are picking up on the energies around them and often responding in subtle and sometimes obvious ways. \nEver received a worrisome call or email and within moments your previously peaceful kid(s) have suddenly gone ballistic? The energetics changed and they responded without knowing why or even that they were. But it’s not always so clear cut\, sometimes we assume aspects of our lives are just ‘who that child is’\, or ‘that’s how things are for us’\, without realising that these may\, in fact\, simply be reactions to our own energetic barriers. \nUnderstanding the energetics of our motherhood is a super power. It is how we can create deeper relationships with our children and partners\, build more confidence and self trust in our leadership role\, while also centering ourselves in the many identities this season calls of us. \nWhile there is undoubtably huge benefit to learning nervous system regulation\, re-parenting ourselves and healing personal or generational trauma\, learning to understand and master our energy is not only woven into all of these journeys\, but it can also stand alone as a simple and life altering practice. Who we are being because of our energy is what attracts the world we experience\, and that is huge. \nWe are taught to manage our homes with logic\, lists\, and “doing” (Masculine Energy). But when you mother from this place 24/7\, your relationship with your partner becomes a transaction\, and your relationship with yourself becomes a chore. We need a healthy balance of the masculine and feminine to thrive\, and for each person this balance will be totally unique. \nUnderstanding these energies and how we can consciously shift between them brings us back in touch with ourselves as women\, as well as adding rocket fuel to being able to mother in a way that feels connected and satisfying. \nThis is deeply powerful stuff in all areas of life\, and yet no one is talking about it. Until now. Come join Rowena for this workshop where we’ll be deep diving into all things energetics and how we can vastly shift our experience of these precious and wildly transformational years of raising small people.
