SUMMARY:Slow Sunday at 42 Acres
DESCRIPTION:Spend a slow Sunday afternoon at 42 Acres and reconnect with nature\, with each other\, and with the elements.\nCome as you are and spend a relaxed Sunday of outdoor vibes. Gather in our forest glade for our signature vegetarian wild dining experience. Your meal will be cooked over an open fire with nourishing ingredients organically-grown and wild-foraged on this land.\nGo for a wild swim in the beaver-filled lake\, and relax in the wood-fired sauna. Or simply take time and space to rest and restore on land that has been allowed to do the same. \nYou’re welcome to do as much or as little as you like:\n– Roam the 173 acres of our land – home to millions of lives.\n– Wild swim in our 7-acre lake or take out our rowboat\, SUP board\, or canoe. (Please note these activities are at your own risk – there is no lifeguard).\n– Look out for beaver\, otter\, wild boar\, hare\, deer and a multitude of birds.\n– Explore our rewilded spaces; woodland mushroom farm; permaculture garden; edible ornamental walled garden; species re-introduction projects; and secret treehouse. Or just chill and chat.\n– Add on a holistic treatment (advance bookings only) \nSlow Sundays run from 11am-4pm on the following dates:\n– Sun 5 Apr 2026 (Easter Sunday)\n– Sun 3 May\n– Sun 28 Jun\n– Sun 19 Jul\n– Sun 30 Aug (Bank holiday weekend)\n– Sun 20 Sep \nFeedback from Past Slow Sundays:\n‘I took some proper time out today. Slow Sundays at 42 Acres Retreat are all about connection – with yourself\, with others\, and with nature.\nWild swimming\, a wood-fired sauna\, woodland walks\, and incredible food grown on the land itself – all shared around a long table in the woods\, with birdsong overhead and an eclectic mix of people from all walks of life. It’s a really well-thought-out setup. Simple\, but intentional. The team were welcoming\, knowledgeable (beavers\, storks\, permaculture\, mushroom farms\, soil-to-gut) and clearly passionate about what they’re building. This was their first Slow Sunday- here’s to many more!’\nLynda\, Slow Sunday Guest\, June 2025. \n‘A group of 6 of us attended 42Acres Slow Sunday and we all throughly enjoyed ourselves. The land is beautiful\, with lots of lovely quiet trails to walk and soak it all up. We even spotted storks\, buzzards and believe we may have accidentally bumped into a wild boar too. The setting for lunch is fabulous. Really cosy atmosphere and delicious food. Some of us even jumped in the lake for a quick swim which was really refreshing.’\nLucy\, Slow Sunday Guest\, August 2025 \n‘Beautiful experience of reconnection to people\, place and soul.’\nSara\, Slow Sunday Guest\, August 2025. \nPlease Note:\n– Must be booked in advance. Please do not come without a ticket because we will not be able to accommodate you.\n– Adults only.\n– Alcohol-free.\n– Please bring swimwear and towels to go in the lake and/or sauna.\n– Please dress for the weather. This experience will go ahead in most weather conditions. If extreme weather prevents us from going ahead\, we will provide an alternative indoor experience on the same date.\n– Spaces are limited\, please book early to avoid disappointment.\n– As much as we love our four-legged friends\, we can not allow dogs on this experience.\n-Subject to availability. \nIf you have any questions\, please feel free to give our friendly team a call on 01373 887642 before booking.\nTerms & Conditions: \nTerms & Conditions – Workshops & Experiences

SUMMARY:SLO | YIN Sound Bath
DESCRIPTION:A candlelit sound bath to clear stagnant energy\, restore balance and reconnect with a calmer\, more grounded state.\nAs the energy of the season builds\, this session offers a space to pause\, soften and gently release what you’ve been holding physically\, mentally and energetically. Working with the principles of YIN\, we slow everything down to allow the body and energy to settle naturally.\nThrough the vibrations of singing bowls\, gongs\, chimes and grounding instruments\, the body is guided into deep rest while the subtle energy of the space supports a quiet rebalancing\, creating room for clarity\, lightness and renewal.

SUMMARY:The Energy Of Motherhood
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever noticed that when you feel overwhelmed\, anxious\, stretched\, or off\, your child suddenly becomes more emotional\, dysregulated\, clingy\, defiant\, or unsettled too? \nOur children are deeply sensitive to the emotional and energetic environment around them. They pick up on far more than we realise\, and often respond before we’ve even had time to process what’s happening in ourselves. \nBut it’s not always obvious. Sometimes we assume certain challenges are just ‘who our child is\,’ or that tension in our home\, our relationship\, or ourselves is ‘just part of motherhood\,’ without ever looking at the energetic patterns underneath it all. \nAnd yet\, as mothers\, we are so often the leading energy of the home. \nWhen we begin to understand the energetics of motherhood\, so much starts to make sense: our children’s behaviour\, our own reactivity\, the pressure we carry\, the strain that can build in our relationships\, and the loss of self so many women feel as they try to hold everything together. \nUnderstanding our energy is a superpower. It helps us lead with more awareness\, build deeper connection with our children and partners\, and return to ourselves with greater confidence\, softness\, and self-trust. \nThis lens is especially powerful in a season where so many mothers are living in constant doing; organising\, anticipating\, managing\, leading\, carrying. In other words\, spending so much time in masculine energy that we begin to feel depleted\, disconnected\, resentful\, or far from ourselves. \nWe need a healthy balance of masculine and feminine energy to thrive\, and that balance will look different for every woman. But when we understand these energies\, and learn how to work with them consciously\, motherhood can begin to feel more grounded\, connected\, and satisfying. \nJoin Rowena for this deeply supportive workshop as we explore the energetics of motherhood and how this awareness can shift the way you experience your child\, your relationships\, and yourself. \nTogether\, we’ll look at what may be happening beneath the surface in your home and inner world\, and open up new ways of relating that feel more empowering\, more intentional\, and more like you. \nThere will also be space to bring what you’re currently moving through\, so it can be met through the lens of energetics with greater clarity\, compassion\, and care. \nAll mothers (and babes in arms) are welcome\, wherever you are on your parenting journey. \nThings to bring/materials required: Please bring a pen and paper\, as well as a bottle of water or anything you’ll need to feel comfortable. We are right next door to Loud Mouth cafe who are happy for you to bring any purchases into the workshop too if you want to fuel up. \nHi\, I’m Rowena. \nMotherhood is my life’s work. \nShaped by raising my own three children and by walking alongside women as a motherhood mentor\, I’m passionate about supporting mothers to reconnect with their inner wisdom as they move through matrescence. \nMy work is rooted in lived experience\, deep listening\, and the understanding that motherhood is not something to be mastered\, but something to be felt\, explored\, and honoured. \nI hold space for women to gently unpack the stories they carry\, trust their intuition\, and make empowered\, embodied choices that feel right for them and their families. \nI believe that when mothers are supported emotionally\, energetically\, and practically\, families thrive. My approach is holistic\, compassionate\, and non-judgemental\, meeting each woman exactly where she is. \nJoin us – If this speaks to something you’ve been sensing in your motherhood\, I’d love to welcome you into the room.

SUMMARY:Summer Solstice Pilgrimage
DESCRIPTION:A Pilgrimage through the Sacred\, Ritual Landscape of White Sheet Hill to align with the energies of the sun at it’s zenith. \nAway from the bustle of Stonehenge\, enjoy a peaceful and uplifting Solstice celebration with an experienced Druid Ceremonialist. \nRooted in the ancient ritual landscape\, we will walk in the footsteps of the ancestors. \nExpect Pilgrim practices – moments of silent contemplation\, singing and chanting\, for example. \nWhilst led by an experienced Druid Ceremonialist\, this is an inclusive walk\, welcoming of all faiths and none. If you wish to step aside and quietly observe rather than take part\, please feel free to do so… \nWhat is the difference between a Walk and a Pilgrimage? Primarily\, it is about intention: walking the old tracks becomes a spiritual act when walked with intention – by doing so we help to preserve and strengthen those ancient songlines…….the Earth re-awakens to our heartfelt care\, and we are healed in return. \nStarting at the Neolithic enclosures of White Sheet Hill\, we will discuss the relevance of this important archaeological feature and how it relates to the wider ritual landscape. \nWe will continue on through species rich grassland\, abundant in Orchids\, to the source of the River Wylye\, revered as a Goddess by both the ancients and modern Druids. \nOur circular route will bring beautiful and far reaching views\, and more archaeological and ritual features – Bronze Age Barrow Cemeteries\, Neolithic Settlements\, and an Iron Age Hillfort. \nA Roman road will take us back to our start point\, where we will hold a short ceremony at sunset to open the Vigil Observance- where traditionally people sleep- fast\, staying awake in meditation and contemplation to greet the Solstice sunrise. To end our ceremony participants will be offered a tipple of specially crafted Mead (‘The drink of the Gods and the Druids’ – made with Meadowsweet and Mugwort\, Chalice Well and White Spring water) or Apple Juice\, and we will break bread (or cake!) before returning home. \n*Please note that whilst we hope for the beautiful weather and glorious sunset of previous years\, the weather can’t be guaranteed and this Pilgrimage will proceed regardless of the weather.

SUMMARY:Peace mandala – Tibetan monks from Tashi Lhunpo monastery
DESCRIPTION:Over three days\, Tibetan monks from Tashi Lhunpo Monastery make a Peace Mandala\, representing a Buddha’s earthly palace using millions of grains of coloured sand. Watch the intricate design build up from the dedication ceremony. \nThe most intriguing and intricate example of the Vajrayana tradition of Tibetan Buddhism is the construction of the Sand Mandala. Made from millions of grains of coloured sand\, the image grows over a series of days until it can be visualised as the palace of the Buddha who visits our realm to bring wisdom\, compassion and peace. The initial dedication ceremony\, the construction and the final dismantling of the mandala are all part of this exhibition. The monks are highly qualified masters of mandala-making who have studied in the monastery since childhood. The final ceremony for the dismantling of the mandala takes place on Monday morning\, beginning with a blessing\, and concluding with a procession led by the monks to distribute the sand in running water. Return to the hall to collect some of the sand to take away as a memory of the mandala. \nVisits to the mandala and the final ceremony are free of charge with voluntary donations to Tashi Lhunpo Monastery to support the monks in their work. www.tashi-lhunpo.org.uk \nThis event is part of Frome Festival.

SUMMARY:Sacred Spring Pilgrimage Walk
DESCRIPTION:A Pilgrimage to the remnant of the once great Selwood Forest\, source of the headwaters to 5 Rivers. \nA greensand ridge that forms the ancient Forest of Selwood features numerous aquifers that feed the headwaters to no less than 5 rivers\, flowing North\, East\, South and West. \nDrawing on archaeological research\, this will be an exploration of the Great Forest that places it at the heart centre of the Sacred Landscape. \nWe will walk in the footsteps of the ancestors\, and echoing their veneration of Springs and Rivers – a recognition of the sacred power of water\, we’ll perform a short blessing at 2 of these Springs\, before visiting an Iron Age Hillfort and a Bronze Age Barrow. \nWhat is the difference between a Walk and a Pilgrimage? Primarily\, it is about intention: walking the old tracks becomes a spiritual act when walked with intention – by doing so we help to preserve and strengthen those ancient songlines…….the Earth re-awakens to our heartfelt care\, and we are healed in return. \nWhilst led by an experienced Druid Ceremonialist\, this is an inclusive walk\, welcoming of all faiths and none. If you wish to step aside and quietly observe the Blessings rather than take part\, please feel free to do so… \nMin age: 18
