SUMMARY:Award Winning Films from the 2026 Frome International Climate Film Festival
DESCRIPTION:THE FILM ROOM – COMMUNITY CINEMA\, supporting new and current filmmakers locally and from around the world\, because everyone should have a voice. Non mainstream cinema which matters. \n23rd September Films\nFILM 1 – OBRONI WAWU – DEAD MAN’S CLOTHES: Obroni Wawu\, meaning “dead white man’s clothes”\, follows Ghanaian creatives and traders as they confront the environmental and social toll of second hand clothing dumped from the Global North.\nFILM 2 – SAURY SEAWEED: The Korean Peninsula is a land where the Cold War never died. As oceans warm\, the southern survival limit of a mythic marine plant is relentlessly retreating north. The species is vanishing from the South. \n21st October Films\nFILM 1 – A FOOD STORY: There is a place in Tenerife where humans and animals sustain themselves with a simple yet extraordinary resource: food waste. They collect\, segregate\, cook\, store\, and create compost from it\, by sustaining up to 40 people and 400 animals each day using just the waste from a single supermarket\nFILM 2 – INTO THE WILD: INTO THE WILD explores the American West and its unique ecosystems\, where iconic species such as mustangs and coyotes are under threat. Alongside zoologist Yvan Kereun\, the film blends science\, Indigenous knowledge\, and conservation practices \n18th November Films\nFILM 1 – WHEN SOLAR LIGHTS UPON THE COMMUNITY: In a timeworn community in Shanghai\, a group of Green Housewives has turned the neighbourhood into a stage for renewable energy. When solar lights upon the community\, the players step forward: a mother of three who studied renewable power in Scandinavia; an artist who creates gallery-worthy sculptures with the community from recyclables; China’s first household-solar pioneer; a high-schooler who runs the community garden’s irrigation on renewable energy.\nFILM 2 – WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WILDLIFE IN THE CITY: The city is like a living organism. Healthy and in perfect balance\, it can make its inhabitants happy\, people as well as animals and plants. If it gets out of balance\, it becomes ill and with it all the creatures that live in it. It is a valuable habitat for animals such as hedgehogs\, rhinoceros beetles and swallowtails. But cities are under pressure. \n16th December Films\nFILM 1 – ROOTED IN RESILIENCE: In an economy often built on extraction\, the women in Rooted in Resilience offer a powerful alternative built on reciprocity. This documentary captures the journey of Indigenous entrepreneurs who treat the land as a relative rather than a resource.\nFILM 2 – WASTED 2025: Wasted prompts us to re-examine who we are and our values — to re-think our relationship with the world around us. We cannot continue to extract and exploit our ecosystems at unprecedented rates and continue down the path of wasting our precious natural resources. We want to inspire action across business\, policy and individuals to clean up our communities\, cities and natural habitats and create healthy\, thriving economies.

SUMMARY:Wild Circle
DESCRIPTION:Wild Circle is a women’s group in nature -women sharing honest conversation around a fire\, in a beautiful garden setting.\nNo pressure or expectation\, just a warm welcome and a gentle invitation to take a pause from everyday life and create a little breathing space. \n“Tara made me feel very welcome and relaxed\, I felt completely at ease. I would highly recommend.” -Jo- \n“It was just what I wanted\, a real ‘firebreak’ in a busy life. Thank you for allowing us to develop what we did in our own way\, whilst gently guiding and holding the session. I think the choice to stay in the ’embrace’ of the wooden structure worked well\, and I found the time by the fire warming in body and spirit. And great cake too.” -Beverly- \nFridays 10am – 11:30am\, monthly at Vallis Farm

SUMMARY:Wet\, Wet\, Wet: Beaver and Human Wetlands of Heal Somerset
DESCRIPTION:Discover how humans and beavers are joining forces to restore vibrant wetland ecosystems at Heal Somerset. On this guided walk and talk with rewilding ranger Daniel Hill\, you will experience first-hand these developing wetlands and learn how dams\, ponds\, scrapes and more can shape water movement\, biodiversity\, and habitat recovery. Together you will explore how beaver activity and human intervention can complement each other to create healthier habitats\, cleaner water\, and climate-resilient ecosystems. \nAbout Daniel Hill \nAs the Rewilding Ranger at Heal Somerset\, Dan manages the site’s monitoring and land management programs. You can find him surveying for signs of beavers\, co-ordinating volunteer work parties\, or working with partners to deliver the hydrological restoration plan\, amongst a huge variety of other tasks. Dan’s passion for nature was sparked as a child growing up on an organic small holding in rural south Wales watching red kites soar above. His love of rewilding developed through volunteering with the RSPB on the Somerset Levels after completing a degree in Mathematical Sciences.

SUMMARY:Wild Winter - A Gathering for Conscious Teams
DESCRIPTION:Across cultures\, winter is a season for turning inwards\, taking stock of what has been learned\, and trusting the unseen work happening beneath the surface. Christmas and New Year at 42 Acres reflects this ancient rhythm\, with time to slow down\, reflect on the year that has been\, and tend to the relationships that will carry the team forward. \nGather around the fire in our oak forest glade\, an ancient woodland that has offered sanctuary for 13 centuries\, make something of the land with your hands\, or build a living legacy in the landscape that will endure for decades to come. Come together around a long\, shared table for a unique wild winter lunch featuring ingredients organically-grown and wild-foraged right here. \nYour Day \nFor small local teams who want to celebrate differently\, this is a chance to come together with other like-minded organisations and make your Christmas gathering part of something bigger. \n10am: Everything at 42 begins with the land. We’re restoring ecosystems and discovering that\, as we heal the land\, we heal ourselves too. Gather around the fire\, an elemental ritual as old as time. A welcome drink of mulled apple juice lands you in this time and place\, these apples were grown just a few steps away. We’ll host a fireside experience designed to bring your team into deeper connection. \n11am: Choose your Wild Experience for your team\, designed to cultivate a deeper sense of belonging\, both with each other and with the natural world. \nWild Winter Crafting: Settle beside a roaring fire and work with natural materials from the land\, slowing down and making something together* \nFuture Orchard Grafting: Learn the ancient art of grafting and help create an apple orchard\, an environmental contribution has a life well beyond the day itself* \n1pm: Gather around a long\, shared table for Wild Winter Lunch\, served family-style and rooted in the land around you. \n3pm: Head home feeling nourished and connected. \n£95 per person \n—\n*Future Orchard Grafting \nLearn the ancient skill of grafting as your team creates a fledgling apple orchard. Take cuttings from our existing apple trees and graft them onto rootstock\, creating dozens of young fruit trees. \nThis hands-on experience builds practical skills\, encourages collaboration\, and connects to food resilience. These trees will continue to grow\, creating a living legacy for your team. \nWe invite you to name the orchard\, adding it to our map and official records. You’re welcome to revisit to plant out your trees\, and eventually picnic under their boughs. \nIndoors & Outdoors\, Moderate Effort \n*Wild Winter Crafting \nTry your hand at wild crafting by a roaring fire. Create a festive wreath to take home\, or a winter nature crown to wear to your private dining experience. \nWe’ll provide beautiful winter materials foraged from the land\, and guide you in creating something entirely your own. Work with nature\, express your style\, and see what emerges. \nCrown yourselves for dinner in your wild creation – some turn out beautiful\, some…quite ‘unexpected’\, all uniquely yours. Or make a festive wreath and take a little piece of 42 Acres home with you.

SUMMARY:Wild Winter – A Gathering for Conscious Teams
