DESCRIPTION:Born of the voices of past lives and baptized in the dust bowl dirt\, the Gothic Americana music of the Heathen Apostles harkens back to a bygone chapter of American history. Using contrasting influences such as Bauhaus\, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and The Pogues along with Howlin’ Wolf\, Loretta Lynn (the band covers her classic Fist City) and Bessie Smith\, the Heathen Apostles have created a style of music that will conjure both angels and demons\, and will enlighten a darkened soul. \nForming the band together in 2013\, Mather Louth (Radio Noir) and rock n roll veteran Chopper Franklin (The Cramps\, Mau Maus\, Nick Curran & the Lowlifes) quickly uncovered a mutual appreciation for murder balladry\, Americana\, and memento mori. The landscape was further tilled with the addition of Luis Mascaro on violin. \nTheir 6 critically acclaimed albums\, along with their many EPs and singles (their release The Fall was named Best EP of 2018 by Folk n Rock magazine)\, capture the essence of the Heathen Apostles modus operandi: Southern Gothic Americana imagery surrounded by haunting\, minor-chord melodies\, musical influences including Gothic Roots music\, Bluegrass\, Blues\, and Gypsy Jazz\, all deftly bound together by the band’s dark and sometimes brooding sense of a bygone age. \nMost recently\, the band completed tours of both mainland Europe as well as the UK in support of their latest release\, The In Between\, with plans to return for two tours in 2026 in support of their forthcoming EP. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all-standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. DESCRIPTION:T’PAU burst onto the music scene in 1987 with the hit Heart & Soul reaching No. 4 in both the UK and US charts. This led to a meteoric rise in T’pau’s fortunes at home and in the USA\, where the track stayed on the US Billboard Chart for six months. After a European Arena Tour supporting Bryan Adams and another UK Tour of their own\, T’pau’s next single China In Your Hand stayed at No1 for five weeks – the longest serving No1 of the year. \nSimultaneously\, their debut album Bridge of Spies occupied the No1 album slot for two weeks and went on to become a certified quadruple platinum in the UK – selling 1.2 million copies. Their own arena concerts followed\, and the subsequent 1988 record Rage also went platinum. T’Pau were nominated for 5 Brit Awards\, an Ivor Novello Award and won an ASCAP Award from the USA for Heart & Soul. \nThe band are now a regular fixture on the Festival and Arena circuit\, annually rocking IOW\, Rewind\, Let’s Rock\, W-Fest\, Here and Now\, Step Back\, Ibiza Hardrock\, Night of The Proms\, 80s Classical\, 80s Orchestral\, and they were special guests on The Human League Generations Tour in 2024.

These artists will share the stage with Eliza\, honouring and celebrating Martin’s immense legacy and musical back catalogue. \nThis evening will present a rolling cast of admirers\, colleagues and surprise guests\, performing an entirely new set featuring some of Martin’s best loved work from all eras of his career\, spanning from his debut to final albums\, via Waterson:Carthy and beyond. \nMartin Carthy is a legendary ballad singer and guitarist who has influenced generations of artists\, including Bob Dylan and Paul Simon\, while Eliza has been twice-nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and a multiple-award winner at the BBC Radio Two Folk awards. \nIn recognition of his illustrious career Martin was recently shortlisted for the 2025 Mercury Prize for his wonderful new solo record Transform Me Then Into A Fish.
