Children (and usually parents!) learn about the fundamentals of music: pulse\, pitch\, rhythm and tempo. \nLittle Piccolos’ goal is to develop a musical ear\, foster creativity and collaboration\, and make music accessible to under 5’s\, with the voice as the primary instrument.\nRISE Frome offers the perfect venue for our groups\, accommodating up to 10 children\, to achieve this each week. \nClasses are £6.50 each session\, per child for the duration of the school term.

DESCRIPTION:R.E.M. formed in 1980\, in Athens\, Georgia and by the mid-nineties earned the tagline ‘the biggest band on the planet’ from the music press. \nThey pioneered the alternative rock scene with relentless touring and a distinctive sound and entered the 90s mainstream without compromising their artistic vision.  They remain as relevant today as ever. \nTheir music is instantly recognisable: ringing guitar lines\, tasteful and clinical drumming\, melodic bass\, and sublime harmonies coupled with poetic (and political) lead vocals. \nContinuing as a trio after the departure of drummer Bill Berry in 1997\, R.E.M. broke up in September 2011\, just as they had started: as friends. DESCRIPTION:Danny McNamara is the founder and lead singer of one of the most iconic bands of the last 20 years\, Embrace. \nHaving sold more than two million albums to date\, their debut album\, The Good Will Out\, was released in 1998 and became one of the fastest-selling debut albums by a British artist. \nIt was certified gold on the day of its release and went on to sell over half a million copies. The band has also had three number one albums and six top 10 singles. \nNow Embrace are celebrating their 30th anniversary and Danny will tour the UK for a special evening of tales about one of Britain’s best-loved bands. With a new book published about the band’s early years\, he’ll be telling stories\, answering questions\, and signing copies of Embrace’s new book.

Following Tony’s untimely passing\, the band paid tribute to his life and work with a series of special performances titled “The Passage in Time” — a two-hour celebration of some of Tony’s most iconic compositions. \nThe shows\, performed by Bob Catley\, Rick Benton\, Lee Morris\, Dennis Ward\, and Brendon Riley (who stepped into Tony’s role on stage with immense pride and respect)\, were met with overwhelming love and gratitude from fans and the wider rock community. The energy\, emotion\, and shared sense of remembrance reaffirmed the band’s belief that Tony’s music — and the spirit of Magnum — must continue. \nIn the wake of these heartfelt tributes\, Dionne Clarkin\, Tony’s daughter\, began exploring over three decades of Magnum’s archives. Her journey uncovered a treasure trove of material — from early drafts and lyric notes that reveal the evolution of some of Magnum’s most beloved songs\, to four fully completed\, never-before-heard tracks that capture Tony’s creative brilliance in his final years. \nThis discovery marks the beginning of a new chapter for Magnum — one that celebrates the band’s past while looking boldly to the future. \n“The support from fans has been truly overwhelming\,” said the band. “Tony’s music has always been at the heart of Magnum\, and with Dionne’s dedication and the incredible response from the shows\, we know the story isn’t over. Sadly\, Grand Slam was cut short in its prime\, with Phil Lynott’s untimely death leaving a hole in the fabric of rock music to this day. \nLaurence went on to make his name playing with UFO but always nurtured a long-term plan to rebuild the Grand Slam machine. And here it is – primed and ready. \nThe new band (Laurence alongside Mike Dyer\, Benjy Reid and Rocky Newton) honours the traditions of the band’s history whilst also looking to the future – classic tracks co-written by Lynott and Archer sit alongside a set of brand new songs that embody the same ethos of freedom\, positivity and adrenaline that ran through Grand Slam in 1984.
