These artists will share the stage with Eliza\, honouring and celebrating Martin’s immense legacy and musical back catalogue. \nThis evening will present a rolling cast of admirers\, colleagues and surprise guests\, performing an entirely new set featuring some of Martin’s best loved work from all eras of his career\, spanning from his debut to final albums\, via Waterson:Carthy and beyond. \nMartin Carthy is a legendary ballad singer and guitarist who has influenced generations of artists\, including Bob Dylan and Paul Simon\, while Eliza has been twice-nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and a multiple-award winner at the BBC Radio Two Folk awards. \nIn recognition of his illustrious career Martin was recently shortlisted for the 2025 Mercury Prize for his wonderful new solo record Transform Me Then Into A Fish. This album both marks his 84th birthday in May 2025\, and offers a full circle moment in his music journey as he revisits material from his very first (eponymous) solo record released in 1965. \nWith a pure silken voice and lyrics that inspire and captivate\, Martha Tilston has developed a successful musical career with a large and loyal following worldwide. \nShe has played on some of the world’s most prestigious stages and festivals\, recorded and released several critically acclaimed albums\, gained a nomination for BBC best newcomer\, appeared as a guest vocalist for Zero 7\, toured internationally and worked with the some of the world’s most inspiring musicians. \nThe past few years have seen Martha venture in to the world of film making\, gaining nominations for best arts film for The Clifftop Sessions and recently releasing her first feature film (with an accompanying Soundtrack Album) – The Tape – which is garnering much praise and excitement.

DESCRIPTION:Little Piccolos is a social enterprise with 10 years of experience in delivering high-quality music classes for children. \nEarly years music classes are attended by children aged 3 months – 5 years and their parent or care giver. We offer fun and dynamic classes\, taught by trained musicians\, using the Kodaly approach. Children (and usually parents!) learn about the fundamentals of music: pulse\, pitch\, rhythm and tempo. \nLittle Piccolos’ goal is to develop a musical ear\, foster creativity and collaboration\, and make music accessible to under 5’s\, with the voice as the primary instrument.\nRISE Frome offers the perfect venue for our groups\, accommodating up to 10 children\, to achieve this each week. \nClasses are £6.50 each session\, per child for the duration of the school term.

A chance encounter brought Kane and Turner together in 2019\, when Turner was searching for a new singer for his band. The pair immediately hit it off\, and within two weeks they were on the road together in full time pursuit of a mutual musical dream. DESCRIPTION:World class choral music in Mells! \nTenebrae Associate Artists are coming to St Andrew’s Church in Mells on 19th July 2026\, 6.30pm\, for an evening of choral music that celebrates music inspired by love. Join the country’s next generation of talented singers for a programme of both sacred and secular music\, conducted by the award-winning Artistic Director of the Tenebrae Choir\, Nigel Short. Music in Country Churches was set up in 1989 to organise concerts of exceptional music in rural churches and is particularly keen to give concert opportunities to young and emerging performers. Following each concert\, a donation is made to the church to help with maintaining the building and carrying out essential repairs. Tickets cost £20 (General Admission\, first-come-first-seated). Wheelchair user and carer/companion (two-for-one) tickets are also available. Under 18s go free (must be accompanied by an adult). This promises to be a not-to-be-missed concert!
