Kiki has recently celebrated her 55th year in the music industry and has cemented her status as one of the UK’s finest and most revered vocalists\, always moving forward with the music that she creates with Carmelo . Kiki says Carmelo is her favorite guitarist \, and he co-writes and produces all their songs. \nThe duo’s latest critically acclaimed album THE LONG RIDE HOME was released in 2022 \, and is full of haunting\, emotional and stunning songs that will hopefully please their army of fans. SUMMARY:The Monochrome Set – Live At The Tree House
DESCRIPTION:Highly influential post-punk/indie band\, The Monochrome Set are to play in Frome\, at the Tree House. Loved by artists such as The Smiths\, Franz Ferdinand and Blur and covered by such diverse acts as Iggy Pop and Tracey Thorn\, this is a unique opportunity to see this legendary act at a small venue in Frome. \nThe band features original Monochrome Set members Bid (guitar/vocals) and Andy Warren (bass) with Athen Ayren on keyboards and Stephen Gilchrist on drums. \nThe Monochrome Set formed in 1978\, and were heavily influential in the post-punk scene that evolved after the initial scorched earth of punk. \nThe band’s early releases were on the legendary Rough Trade Label before signing with Virgin offshoot Din Disc. They also released several albums on the Cherry Red label\, making a notable appearance on that labels’ well known “Pillows and Prayers” compilation.\nThough The Monochrome Set split in 1985 the next decade saw several reunions for both live gigs and further studio recordings. After a hiatus of over a decade the band reformed full time in 2010 and have since toured all over the UK\, Europe\, Japan and the USA\, whilst also releasing eight new\, critically acclaimed\, studio albums. \nNow in their 48th year\, they are beginning a new series of gigs promoting their latest album and playing songs old and new. \nCo-founder and ever-present member of Yeovil-based indie pop band The Chesterfields\, Simon Chesterfield returns with a new pop band and new pop music. A seven inch single will be released by Spinout Nuggets in December. \nSimon Chesterfield’s eponymous debut album was released by German label Legere Recordings in October 2024\, a 10 inch vinyl album featuring six of Simon’s compositions reimagined as an orchestral performance. This was followed by a 7 inch single ‘Last Train To Christmas’ released by the Dutch label Snowflakes Christmas Single Club in November 2024\, landing somewhere between the orchestral sound of the 10 inch and the jangle pop of The Chesterfields. \nSimon’s new band line-up features Billy Shinbone (Neville Staple band\, The Sinclairs) on guitar and vocals\, Joe Atkinson (Donovan\, The Rhynes) on keyboards and vocals\, Wayne Higgins (John Parish band\, Radio Flyer) on bass guitar\, and producer Ben Scott Turner (i-nichi\, Evil Owl) on drums. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. Using contrasting influences such as Bauhaus\, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and The Pogues along with Howlin’ Wolf\, Loretta Lynn (the band covers her classic Fist City) and Bessie Smith\, the Heathen Apostles have created a style of music that will conjure both angels and demons\, and will enlighten a darkened soul. \nForming the band together in 2013\, Mather Louth (Radio Noir) and rock n roll veteran Chopper Franklin (The Cramps\, Mau Maus\, Nick Curran & the Lowlifes) quickly uncovered a mutual appreciation for murder balladry\, Americana\, and memento mori. The landscape was further tilled with the addition of Luis Mascaro on violin. \nTheir 6 critically acclaimed albums\, along with their many EPs and singles (their release The Fall was named Best EP of 2018 by Folk n Rock magazine)\, capture the essence of the Heathen Apostles modus operandi: Southern Gothic Americana imagery surrounded by haunting\, minor-chord melodies\, musical influences including Gothic Roots music\, Bluegrass\, Blues\, and Gypsy Jazz\, all deftly bound together by the band’s dark and sometimes brooding sense of a bygone age. \nMost recently\, the band completed tours of both mainland Europe as well as the UK in support of their latest release\, The In Between\, with plans to return for two tours in 2026 in support of their forthcoming EP. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all-standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. This led to a meteoric rise in T’pau’s fortunes at home and in the USA\, where the track stayed on the US Billboard Chart for six months. After a European Arena Tour supporting Bryan Adams and another UK Tour of their own\, T’pau’s next single China In Your Hand stayed at No1 for five weeks – the longest serving No1 of the year. \nSimultaneously\, their debut album Bridge of Spies occupied the No1 album slot for two weeks and went on to become a certified quadruple platinum in the UK – selling 1.2 million copies. DESCRIPTION:Raging Speedhorn formed in 1998 in Corby\, Northamptonshire\, merging members of Box and Soulcellar into a ferocious force of sludge\, metal\, and hardcore. Known for their dual-vocal attack—John Loughlin’s guttural growl alongside Frank Regan’s raw intensity\, the band quickly built a reputation for chaotic\, high-energy live shows. \nAfter the release of their self-titled debut (2000) and We Will Be Dead Tomorrow (2002)\, which saw “The Gush” enter the UK charts\, the band toured relentlessly with acts like Rammstein\, Slipknot\, and Biohazard\, and played major festivals including Ozzfest\, Reading\, and Download. Their third album\, How the Great Have Fallen (2005)\, preceded lineup changes and a fourth release\, Before the Sea Was Built (2007)\, before they disbanded in 2008. \nReforming in 2014\, the band returned with renewed energy\, headlining stages at Sonisphere and Damnation Festival\, and releasing Lost Ritual (2016) and Hard to Kill (2020)\, the latter charting across UK rock and indie rankings.
