Loved by artists such as The Smiths\, Franz Ferdinand and Blur and covered by such diverse acts as Iggy Pop and Tracey Thorn\, this is a unique opportunity to see this legendary act at a small venue in Frome. \nThe band features original Monochrome Set members Bid (guitar/vocals) and Andy Warren (bass) with Athen Ayren on keyboards and Stephen Gilchrist on drums. \nThe Monochrome Set formed in 1978\, and were heavily influential in the post-punk scene that evolved after the initial scorched earth of punk. \nThe band’s early releases were on the legendary Rough Trade Label before signing with Virgin offshoot Din Disc. They also released several albums on the Cherry Red label\, making a notable appearance on that labels’ well known “Pillows and Prayers” compilation.\nThough The Monochrome Set split in 1985 the next decade saw several reunions for both live gigs and further studio recordings. After a hiatus of over a decade the band reformed full time in 2010 and have since toured all over the UK\, Europe\, Japan and the USA\, whilst also releasing eight new\, critically acclaimed\, studio albums. \nNow in their 48th year\, they are beginning a new series of gigs promoting their latest album and playing songs old and new. \nCo-founder and ever-present member of Yeovil-based indie pop band The Chesterfields\, Simon Chesterfield returns with a new pop band and new pop music. A seven inch single will be released by Spinout Nuggets in December. \nSimon Chesterfield’s eponymous debut album was released by German label Legere Recordings in October 2024\, a 10 inch vinyl album featuring six of Simon’s compositions reimagined as an orchestral performance. This was followed by a 7 inch single ‘Last Train To Christmas’ released by the Dutch label Snowflakes Christmas Single Club in November 2024\, landing somewhere between the orchestral sound of the 10 inch and the jangle pop of The Chesterfields. \nSimon’s new band line-up features Billy Shinbone (Neville Staple band\, The Sinclairs) on guitar and vocals\, Joe Atkinson (Donovan\, The Rhynes) on keyboards and vocals\, Wayne Higgins (John Parish band\, Radio Flyer) on bass guitar\, and producer Ben Scott Turner (i-nichi\, Evil Owl) on drums. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. DESCRIPTION:Little Piccolos is a social enterprise with 10 years of experience in delivering high-quality music classes for children. \nEarly years music classes are attended by children aged 3 months – 5 years and their parent or care giver. We offer fun and dynamic classes\, taught by trained musicians\, using the Kodaly approach. Children (and usually parents!) learn about the fundamentals of music: pulse\, pitch\, rhythm and tempo. \nLittle Piccolos’ goal is to develop a musical ear\, foster creativity and collaboration\, and make music accessible to under 5’s\, with the voice as the primary instrument.\nRISE Frome offers the perfect venue for our groups\, accommodating up to 10 children\, to achieve this each week. \nClasses are £6.50 each session\, per child for the duration of the school term.

DESCRIPTION:Nashville-based Southern Rock Revivalists Parker Barrow roar back to the UK with their Hold The Mash Tour \nParker Barrow is a high energy\, blues-infused southern rock ‘n’ roll band led by husband-and-wife duo Megan Kane (lead vocals) and Dylan Turner (drums). A chance encounter brought Kane and Turner together in 2019\, when Turner was searching for a new singer for his band. The pair immediately hit it off\, and within two weeks they were on the road together in full time pursuit of a mutual musical dream. The couple have been riding the highs and lows of rock ’n’ roll road life ever since. \nIn 2023 Parker Barrow expanded with the full-time inclusion of guitarist and musical director Alex Bender. At the foundation of Parker Barrow’s sound is the heavy-handed groove of Turner’s drumming\, with Kane’s soulful and electrifying vocals soaring up over the top.
