SUMMARY:Baggy Mondays
DESCRIPTION:The legendary indie disco club night Baggy Mondays has announced a special one-off show at Frome’s Cheese & Grain on Friday 26 June 2026\, on what would’ve been Glastonbury Festival weekend. \nFounded in 2002 at London’s iconic Heavenly Social (where it’s the longest-running night)\, Baggy Mondays quickly became one of the capital’s most celebrated nights\, with members of Kasabian and Kings of Leon joining the up-for-it crowds. \nBaggy Mondays has since become a Glastonbury Festival institution\, packing the Stonebridge Bar in The Park on the Thursday of every festival since 2007 with its riotous\, festival-igniting mix of indie\, rock and dance classics from the likes of the Stone Roses\, Oasis\, the Prodigy\, Arctic Monkeys\, Blur\, Fatboy Slim\, Pulp and Nirvana. They’ve also DJ’d at Kendal Calling\, Green Man\, Isle of Wight Festival & Pilton Party. \nNow\, Baggy Mondays is coming to Frome’s historic Cheese & Grain venue\, which has previously hosted legendary Glastonbury warm-up shows by the Foo Fighters\, Paul McCarney and CMAT. \nSaid Chris from Baggy Mondays: “What better place to celebrate Glastonbury’s fallow year than with a night at the Cheese & Grain in gorgeous Frome – we can’t wait to get the party started!”

SUMMARY:Dirty Laundry: Summer Spectacular
DESCRIPTION:Dirty Laundry returns to the Merlin for its biggest summer show yet – headlined by the unstoppable Diz Undone (formerly Dizraeli). \nRapper\, poet\, producer\, and multi-instrumentalist\, Diz is “a genre of his own”. From his cult debut Engurland / City Shanties to the explosive Joy Machine\, his work fuses hip-hop\, post-punk\, and jazz into something fiercely original. \nAs Gilles Peterson puts it: “Incredible… make sure you catch him live”. \nThe first half of the night is pure Dirty Laundry: a cabaret-style collision of spoken word\, music\, and live collaboration – featuring bold new performances forged in Dizzy’s Kitchen\, his creative mentoring project. \nThen Diz takes the stage for a full headline set. Expect rhythm\, fire\, lyricism\, and heart. Frome’s most electric night of words and music. \nRunning time: 130 minutes plus interval\nRecommended: 16+\nTickets: £15\nDirty Laundry is an uncensored space for honest\, grown-up creativity — think big feelings\, strong language\, and the occasional surprise. We welcome older teens\, but we can’t guarantee what others will bring to the mic. You know your young person best.

SUMMARY:Walt Disco – Live at the Tree House
DESCRIPTION:Walt Disco makes emotionally rich electronic rock with scale\, confidence\, and intent. Fronted by Jocelyn Si (she/her) alongside Finlay McCarthy\, Charlie Lock\, Lewis Carmichael\, and Jack Martin\, the band channels big feeling through deeply personal songwriting that is direct\, immersive\, and fully formed. \nTheir sound blends electronic production with analogue synths and driving band dynamics\, creating music that feels expansive without losing emotional focus. Walt Disco’s strength lies in clarity and purpose: the songs speak for themselves\, meeting listeners head-on without leaning on nostalgia or comparison. \nFollowing the acclaim of their debut album Unlearning\, the band have continued to build momentum with a growing international audience. Recent tours supporting Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark across Europe and the US\, alongside headline shows in North America\, marked a clear step forward and affirmed Walt Disco as a band ready for bigger stages. \nNow firmly in a building phase\, Walt Disco are focused on developing their live show\, releasing new material with intent\, and expanding their world at a steady\, confident pace. It’s a project defined by emotional honesty\, ambition\, and forward momentum. Walt Disco carve out a space that feels entirely their own. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. SUMMARY:The Monochrome Set + Simon Chesterfield
DESCRIPTION:Highly influential post-punk/indie band\, The Monochrome Set. Loved by artists such as The Smiths\, Franz Ferdinand and Blur and covered by such diverse acts as Iggy Pop and Tracey Thorn\, this is a unique opportunity to see this legendary act at a small venue in Frome. The band features original Monochrome Set members Bid (guitar/vocals) and Andy Warren (bass) with Foz (guitar) Dave Morgan (drums) and Athen Ayren (keyboard). The Monochrome Set formed in 1978\, and were heavily influential in the post-punk scene that evolved after the initial scorched earth of punk. \nThe band’s early releases were on the legendary Rough Trade Label before signing with Virgin offshoot Din Disc. They also released several albums on the Cherry Red label\, making a notable appearance on that label’s well known “Pillows and Prayers” compilation.\nThough The Monochrome Set split in 1985 the next decade saw several reunions for both live gigs and further studio recordings. After a hiatus of over a decade the band reformed full time in 2010 and have since toured all over the UK\, Europe\, Japan and the USA\, whilst also releasing eight new\, critically acclaimed\, studio albums.\nNow in their 48th year\, they are beginning a new series of gigs promoting their latest album and playing songs old and new. \nSupport – Simon Chesterfield\nCo-founder and ever-present member of Yeovil-based indie pop band The Chesterfields\, Simon Chesterfield returns with a new pop band and new pop music. A seven inch single will be released by Spinout Nuggets in December.\nSimon Chesterfield’s eponymous debut album was released by German label Legere Recordings in October 2024\, a 10 inch vinyl album featuring six of Simon’s compositions reimagined as an orchestral performance. This was followed by a 7 inch single ‘Last Train To Christmas’ released by the Dutch label Snowflakes Christmas Single Club in November 2024\, landing somewhere between the orchestral sound of the 10 inch and the jangle pop of The Chesterfields.\nSimon’s new band line-up features Billy Shinbone (Neville Staple band\, The Sinclairs) on guitar and vocals\, Joe Atkinson (Donovan\, The Rhynes) on keyboards and vocals\, Wayne Higgins (John Parish band\, Radio Flyer) on bass guitar\, and producer Ben Scott Turner (i-nichi\, Evil Owl) on drums. \nThis event is part of Frome Festival.
