DESCRIPTION:Mashing their own brew of pop-punk and folk since 2013\, the five-piece continue on their mission to provide merriment and moshing to the masses by relentlessly touring the UK and Europe. \nDrawing inspiration from their favourite punk bands growing up\, matched with their long affinity to folk legends\, the fusion had formed. With the driving force of drums\, bass and high energy guitar\, they meet unwavering banjo\, mandolin and tin whistle melodies\, and all stand equally on the battlefield. \nThe debut album ‘Taking Chances’ was released in 2017\, with the sophomore album ‘Comedies and Tragedies’ being released three years later during the first lockdown of 2020. Newest release ‘The Only Life Worth Living’ came out to the masses in 2023 boasting four singles\, including one featuring guest vocalist Hannah Greenwood of Creeper. All three releases were released independently and were produced and mixed by Lewis Johns of The Ranch. \nTo date the band’s UK festival appearances include Cropredy\, WOMAD\, Boomtown\, Beautiful Days\, Belladrum\, Black Deer\, Camp Bestival along with hundreds of smaller UK festivals and beyond\, also venturing into Germany\, Belgium\, Switzerland\, The Netherlands\, Czech Republic and France. \nIn both 2016 and 2018\, Black Water County won their place on Fireball’s ‘Fuelling the Fire Tour’ supporting Less Than Jake\, Flogging Molly\, The Bronx and The Skints. They subsequently featured in Kerrang!’s online coverage of the tour\, received an endorsement from Fireball UK and also appeared on BBC radio stations with the single ‘Rise and Fall’. \n‘Ultimately though\, it was Black Water County who landed themselves a place on the stage with Flogging Molly.. DESCRIPTION:The purpose is to fundraise towards the church having a properly accessible main entrance\, with a permanent slope as well as steps\, so that all people can get into the building easily. \nThis is part of Christ Church Future’s dream to make our building useful for the people of Frome. \nOctober 17th is a great opportunity for musical performances\, whether solo or ensemble\, instrumental or vocal. You can have a slot from 1 minute long upwards\, aiming to fit anyone in who wants to make music! No-one is too young or too old to take part. DESCRIPTION:This show was originally scheduled for 30th May but was postponed to 17th October due to band illness.  \nSTRAIGHTEN OUT are the world’s premier Stranglers tribute band with an extensive set-list that spans two solid hours as they re-create the ‘early years’ sound of The Stranglers\, complete with a Hammond organ and Minimoog synth; the same models used by Mr. Greenfield himself\, back in the day! \nThe growling bass sound and the quirky guitar riffs are all there to be heard as is the dual vocal ‘attack’ from the two frontmen a-la Burnel/Cornwell as they rip through the Stranglers’ classic: ‘Peaches’\, ‘Hanging Around’\, ‘No More Heroes’\, ‘5 Minutes’\, ‘The Raven’\, ‘Walk On By’\, ‘Straighten Out’\, ‘Down In The Sewer’ and many more as they cover the Stranglers’ early classic albums and beyond. \nStraighten Out will take you on a nostalgia trip that transports you back to those raw\, powerful\, exhilarating times when The Stranglers emerged through the quagmire of mediocrity to produce some of the finest music ever written. Straighten Out will put you back in that place! \nBassist Shaggy and keyboard player Mick (‘The Doc’) were together in previous Stranglers tribute band ‘Four More Heroes’ and it was only natural that these two continued on after their demise to form ‘Straighten Out’ given their love of Stranglers music and the desire to keep playing live. They set the platform with the growling bass and swirling keyboard sound so essential to reproducing the authentic Stranglers sound. Joining them are Jet ‘Beets’ Beety on drums and Phil Harvey steps up to give you the ‘Hugh’ element to complete the fearsome foursome. \nStraighten Out are a must-see tribute band! \nPlease note this is an 18+ all-standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift.
