The band experienced a triumphant resurgence in 2023 and with new music on the horizon\, a 2024/25 calendar proving that the demand for the band isn’t about to slow down..\, Drowning Pool has a white knuckle grip on their present and future with no plans to slow down. \nSNOT \nSNOT is an American punk band from Santa Barbara\, California\, originally formed in 1995. Known for blending punk rock\, hardcore\, and funk influences\, featured Lynn Strait as the charismatic lead vocalist\, along with the lead guitarist Mikey Doling\, bassist John Fahnestock\, drummer Jamie Miller\, and later\, Sonny Mayo on guitar. SNOT brought an edgy\, high-energy sound to the late ’90s music scene. The first full-length album\, Get Some\, released in 1997\, became iconic for its aggressive sound and Strait’s raw\, confrontational lyrics. The album received praise for its energy and distinctive fusion of punk and metal elements\, positioning SNOT as part of the emerging nu-metal scene\, alongside bands like Korn and Limp Bizkit\, with whom they often shared the stage. Unfortunately\, the band’s career was cut short in 1998 when Lynn Strait tragically died in a car accident\, along with his dog\, Dobbs\, who was featured on the cover of Get Some. \nFollowing Strait’s death\, the band dissolved\, but SNOT’s impact continued\, and SNOT developed a devoted cult following. In 2000\, Mikey Doling produced Strait Up\, a tribute album that featured guest vocalists from various bands performing unreleased SNOT tracks as a tribute to Strait’s memory. Over the years\, SNOT’s music has maintained its influence within the punk and metal communities as the legendary punk band. In 2025\, SNOT decided to return to the scene with the new singer. Ottewell’s distinctive vocals and songwriting contributed to the band’s unique sound\, characterized by a blend of blues\, folk\, and rock elements. DESCRIPTION:Indie rock icons Maxïmo Park celebrate 20 years since the release of their Mercury Prize-nominated breakthrough debut album “A Certain Trigger” with a special one-off show at the Cheese and Grain. \nThe Mercury Prize-nominated record\, produced by Paul Epworth and released on Warp\, arrived with a trio of iconic singles in ‘Apply Some Pressure’\, ‘Graffiti’\, and ‘Going Missing’\, each of which still define the indie disco experience for many to this day. Released at the time into a landscape soon to become dominated by ten-a-penny guitar bands\, with A Certain Trigger Maxïmo Park were the bookish\, livewire outsiders\, bursting with punk power\, pop sensibility and literary smarts. \nEven their signing to Warp records – a label predominantly known for its experimental and electronic roster at the time – suggested a band with its eyes set beyond the horizon. Almost immediately\, and certainly in the time since its release\, A Certain Trigger has installed itself as a scene staple\, and a curiosity of the 00s that packs as much power today as it did 20 years ago. \nLead singer Paul Smith says “Not many bands make it to a twentieth year together so we’re having a big celebration\, with a special 20th anniversary tour and by giving a fresh perspective to A Certain Trigger. Our first album remains dear to so many people\, and compiling archive material for the reissue has been like entering a time machine – thrilling\, but also a bit scary! Happily\, we think the music has more than stood the test of time\, and the tour\, where we’ll revisit many of the beloved older songs\, will be a joyful experience for both us and our audience. Children (and usually parents!) learn about the fundamentals of music: pulse\, pitch\, rhythm and tempo. \nLittle Piccolos’ goal is to develop a musical ear\, foster creativity and collaboration\, and make music accessible to under 5’s\, with the voice as the primary instrument.\nRISE Frome offers the perfect venue for our groups\, accommodating up to 10 children\, to achieve this each week. \nClasses are £6.50 each session\, per child for the duration of the school term.

SUMMARY:The Monochrome Set – Live At The Tree House
DESCRIPTION:Highly influential post-punk/indie band\, The Monochrome Set are to play in Frome\, at the Tree House. Loved by artists such as The Smiths\, Franz Ferdinand and Blur and covered by such diverse acts as Iggy Pop and Tracey Thorn\, this is a unique opportunity to see this legendary act at a small venue in Frome. \nThe band features original Monochrome Set members Bid (guitar/vocals) and Andy Warren (bass) with Athen Ayren on keyboards and Stephen Gilchrist on drums. \nThe Monochrome Set formed in 1978\, and were heavily influential in the post-punk scene that evolved after the initial scorched earth of punk. \nThe band’s early releases were on the legendary Rough Trade Label before signing with Virgin offshoot Din Disc. They also released several albums on the Cherry Red label\, making a notable appearance on that labels’ well known “Pillows and Prayers” compilation.\nThough The Monochrome Set split in 1985 the next decade saw several reunions for both live gigs and further studio recordings. After a hiatus of over a decade the band reformed full time in 2010 and have since toured all over the UK\, Europe\, Japan and the USA\, whilst also releasing eight new\, critically acclaimed\, studio albums. \nNow in their 48th year\, they are beginning a new series of gigs promoting their latest album and playing songs old and new. \nCo-founder and ever-present member of Yeovil-based indie pop band The Chesterfields\, Simon Chesterfield returns with a new pop band and new pop music. A seven inch single will be released by Spinout Nuggets in December. \nSimon Chesterfield’s eponymous debut album was released by German label Legere Recordings in October 2024\, a 10 inch vinyl album featuring six of Simon’s compositions reimagined as an orchestral performance. This was followed by a 7 inch single ‘Last Train To Christmas’ released by the Dutch label Snowflakes Christmas Single Club in November 2024\, landing somewhere between the orchestral sound of the 10 inch and the jangle pop of The Chesterfields. \nSimon’s new band line-up features Billy Shinbone (Neville Staple band\, The Sinclairs) on guitar and vocals\, Joe Atkinson (Donovan\, The Rhynes) on keyboards and vocals\, Wayne Higgins (John Parish band\, Radio Flyer) on bass guitar\, and producer Ben Scott Turner (i-nichi\, Evil Owl) on drums. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. DESCRIPTION:The Frome Independent is an award winning\, destination street market. We reclaim Frome’s high street once a month to showcase the best independent craftspeople\, designers\, makers\, food producers and vintage traders in the South West. \nThe market takes place on the first Sunday of the month from March to December and strives to be ‘more than a market’\, incorporating live music\, DJs\, street performance\, workshops and activities for children and adults alike on market days. \nThe market is a free event for visitors and has quickly grown to be one of the most significant elements in the region’s calendar attracting over 80\,000 visitors each year. \nVisitors to the market can find contemporary craft\, designer-made homewares\, ethical clothing and jewellery in our Designer-Maker section\, discover fledgling design start-ups in our Suitcase Sale\, have a rummage through vintage nostalgia in our Flea Market or browse indoor plants\, gardenalia and homewares in our Homes & Gardens section. Food lovers can discover local produce from cheese and cider to vegan cakes and kimchi. We work with Somerset Farmers Markets who curate a section for farmers\, growers and producers. There’s also a huge and vibrant range of street food to choose from.

DESCRIPTION:Little Piccolos is a social enterprise with 10 years of experience in delivering high-quality music classes for children. \nEarly years music classes are attended by children aged 3 months – 5 years and their parent or care giver. We offer fun and dynamic classes\, taught by trained musicians\, using the Kodaly approach. Children (and usually parents!) learn about the fundamentals of music: pulse\, pitch\, rhythm and tempo. \nLittle Piccolos’ goal is to develop a musical ear\, foster creativity and collaboration\, and make music accessible to under 5’s\, with the voice as the primary instrument.\nRISE Frome offers the perfect venue for our groups\, accommodating up to 10 children\, to achieve this each week. \nClasses are £6.50 each session\, per child for the duration of the school term.

SUMMARY:Heathen Apostles – Live at The Tree House
DESCRIPTION:Born of the voices of past lives and baptized in the dust bowl dirt\, the Gothic Americana music of the Heathen Apostles harkens back to a bygone chapter of American history. Using contrasting influences such as Bauhaus\, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and The Pogues along with Howlin’ Wolf\, Loretta Lynn (the band covers her classic Fist City) and Bessie Smith\, the Heathen Apostles have created a style of music that will conjure both angels and demons\, and will enlighten a darkened soul. \nForming the band together in 2013\, Mather Louth (Radio Noir) and rock n roll veteran Chopper Franklin (The Cramps\, Mau Maus\, Nick Curran & the Lowlifes) quickly uncovered a mutual appreciation for murder balladry\, Americana\, and memento mori. The landscape was further tilled with the addition of Luis Mascaro on violin. \nTheir 6 critically acclaimed albums\, along with their many EPs and singles (their release The Fall was named Best EP of 2018 by Folk n Rock magazine)\, capture the essence of the Heathen Apostles modus operandi: Southern Gothic Americana imagery surrounded by haunting\, minor-chord melodies\, musical influences including Gothic Roots music\, Bluegrass\, Blues\, and Gypsy Jazz\, all deftly bound together by the band’s dark and sometimes brooding sense of a bygone age. \nMost recently\, the band completed tours of both mainland Europe as well as the UK in support of their latest release\, The In Between\, with plans to return for two tours in 2026 in support of their forthcoming EP. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all-standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift.
