DESCRIPTION:Fresh from supporting Oasis on their monumental return to stadiums this summer\, Cast frontman John Power is coming to Frome for an Intimate Evening With event. \nCast\, The La’s\, and Me – An Intimate Evening With Singer/Songwriter John Power \nCast’s John Power will return to intimate venues with his spoken word tour next spring. He’ll go back on the road with his Cast\, The La’s and Me tour – undoubtedly with some extra stories from this summer\, when Cast supports Oasis in their return to stadium rock. \nJohn had the best rock’n’roll apprenticeship ever – playing bass as an 18-year-old in The La’s. Forming Cast in 1991\, he sang\, wrote songs\, and played guitar for one of Britpop’s pre-eminent bands–securing two platinum-selling records before returning to the charts in 2024 with the magnificent Love Is The Call. \nJohn’s solo career produced some of his best work and through this summer\, Cast will join Oasis at their sell-out football stadium tour. \nHe said: “I had an absolute belter of a time on the road and can’t wait to go at it again; I am pretty sure I’ll have some great stories from the summer ahead\, as well as plenty of other from my career until now. See you there!” \nAfter a very busy 2025\, spring will once again\, give John time to reflect on Britpop\, the hits – Alright\, Sandstorm\, Walkaway\, Flying and more – in this intimate show that mixes his best-loved songs with wild\, funny\, and tender stories.

SUMMARY:Frome Voices Spring Concert
DESCRIPTION:Frome Voices\, Frome’s largest community choir is delighted to return to the Cheese and Grain on Sunday 22nd March 2026 with a full evening of enticing choral and orchestral music\, enhanced by professional soloists. This year’s performance will include Carl Orff’s popular choral work\, Carmina Burana\, based on a collection of 13th century songs and poems. In addition\, Musical Director Alan Burgess will lead the choir through Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music\, written in1938 to celebrate Sir Henry Wood’s 50 years as a conductor. The concert will also include a performance of 20th century English composer Gerald Finzi’s clarinet concerto\, with orchestral accompaniment. It is reckoned to be one of the finest pieces written for the clarinet. The performance begins at 7.00pm.

Mr. Miller lost a band member to suicide earlier in his career. \nAn opera\, concert and musical rolled into one\, it fuses haunting melodies and quirky jazz.

Since then the line-up has expanded and gone through many incarnations\, with their sounds evolving along the way. \nThey play at major British festivals like Glastonbury\, as well as community venues across the country. But you’re just as likely to meet them at your nearest frontline protest or union picket line. Although they no longer fly abroad because of the CO2 emissions of air-travel\, they’ve previously toured in American towns and cities\, Indian farming villages\, Europe and Palestine. \n30 years experience has only strengthened their conviction that all lives are connected\, and kindness is the key to every heart\, even in the hardest of times. They sing to bring themselves and their audience back to this reality\, celebrating their victories and appreciating their connection with Mother Earth. The single release ‘Golden’ from the album was show cased on many radio stations most notably on BBC 6 Music with Craig Charles a big advocate. Formed from the partnership of Bristol producer DJ Bunjy and MC Joe Peng\, two legends of the rave and proto-Jungle scenes\, the pair spent the 90’s causing havoc on dance floors in the biggest raves around the country\, performing for the era defining party brands and popping up on all the essential tape packs. \nBuilding on their successful rave wrecking partnership\, the pair began to look for a new musical direction and like many of Bristol’s most loved musical exports\, they drew inspiration from the melting pot that is Bristol music\, which of course has Reggae and Soundsystem culture at its core. What began as a studio project\, found them seeking out some of the most impressive musicians the city has to offer and Laid Blak was formed.
