We reclaim Frome’s high street once a month to showcase the best independent craftspeople\, designers\, makers\, food producers and vintage traders in the South West. \nThe market takes place on the first Sunday of the month from March to December and strives to be ‘more than a market’\, incorporating live music\, DJs\, street performance\, workshops and activities for children and adults alike on market days. \nThe market is a free event for visitors and has quickly grown to be one of the most significant elements in the region’s calendar attracting over 80\,000 visitors each year. \nVisitors to the market can find contemporary craft\, designer-made homewares\, ethical clothing and jewellery in our Designer-Maker section\, discover fledgling design start-ups in our Suitcase Sale\, have a rummage through vintage nostalgia in our Flea Market or browse indoor plants\, gardenalia and homewares in our Homes & Gardens section. Food lovers can discover local produce from cheese and cider to vegan cakes and kimchi. We work with Somerset Farmers Markets who curate a section for farmers\, growers and producers. There’s also a huge and vibrant range of street food to choose from.

His dedication\, leadership\, and belief in the venue and its staff helped shape it into the vibrant cultural hub it is today. \nBeyond his work with the Cheese and Grain\, Phil was the founder of Frome FM\, a community radio station that continues to enrich local life. He went on to launch Visual Radio Arts\, giving a platform to hundreds of artists and supporting their work. He also served as a Somerset County Councillor\, working tirelessly to represent and champion the interests of the local community. \nIn celebration of Phil’s life\, we are honoured to be hosting a special event\, “Party At The End Of The World\,” alongside his family and friends. \nThe evening will feature a fantastic line-up including The Utopia Strong\, Arch Garrison\, Richard\, Chantelle & Amy\, Kavus Torabi\, The Jolly Rotter\, Hodmadoddery\, Sara Vian and will be hosted by Martin Dimery. \nWe remain profoundly grateful for Phil’s vision\, support\, and the lasting legacy he leaves behind\, not only within the Cheese and Grain\, but across the wider Frome community. \nIn celebration of his life and in honour of this legacy\, all funds raised from the event will be donated to support the vital work of Fair Frome.

At the Free Trade Hall in Manchester\, one voice rang out above the rest\, famously shouting “Judas!” Dylan’s response was immediate and legendary: “I don’t believe you!”\,  before instructing the band to play louder. \nExactly years to the day\, The Bob Villains mark this iconic moment in music history\, with a special show at The Tree House\, Frome. This is truly one not to miss. \nCovering Dylan’s career from his early 1960s acoustic work\, through the electric years and his many stylistic reinventions\, The Bob Villains have spent over a decade presenting his music with the respect and depth it deserves.
