DESCRIPTION:The relationship between soil and gut health is a fascinating area of study. As we discover more\, we are learning that time spent outside is having a hugely positive impact on our insides. From forest bathing to making ferments\, each bridge we build between the natural world and ourselves is a step further towards creating healthy habits which are good for both mind and body. \nJoin Alex from Somerset Kimchi and Kraut and Tamsin\, Head of Land and Learning at Vallis Farm on this one day workshop to learn about how healthy soils work\, the impact of gardening on both physical and mental health\, and how we can make simple changes for big benefits. Expect a gentle walk through our forest garden and local woodland to see what plants we can grow and forage to improve our gut biome. You’ll be getting your hands in the soil and learning how there are direct links between our interactions with the earth\, our food and our happiness. \nWe will then enjoy a super healthy and delicious lunch together before learning how to make ferments both for ourselves and our gardens. And what better way to finish the day with a wood fired sauna and a bit of cold water swimming in our natural pool! \nExpect to come away with easy and practical information to make positive changes for yourself and your family and homemade ferments to enjoy at home. \nTickets are £115 and include lunch and refreshments throughout the day \nIncluded in your ticket price: \n– Teaching and learning including practicals about soil\, no dig and organic approaches to gardening\, forest gardening and foraging \n– A workshop on ferments including your own jar of kimchi to take home \n– Refreshments throughout the day \n– A delicious and nourishing homemade lunch including natural sodas \n– Take home tips and recipes \n– A wood fired sauna and wild swimming session to close the day \nSee you on the farm!
