DESCRIPTION:Little Piccolos is a social enterprise with 10 years of experience in delivering high-quality music classes for children. \nEarly years music classes are attended by children aged 3 months – 5 years and their parent or care giver. We offer fun and dynamic classes\, taught by trained musicians\, using the Kodaly approach. Children (and usually parents!) learn about the fundamentals of music: pulse\, pitch\, rhythm and tempo. \nLittle Piccolos’ goal is to develop a musical ear\, foster creativity and collaboration\, and make music accessible to under 5’s\, with the voice as the primary instrument.\nRISE Frome offers the perfect venue for our groups\, accommodating up to 10 children\, to achieve this each week. \nClasses are £6.50 each session\, per child for the duration of the school term.

DESCRIPTION:Born of the voices of past lives and baptized in the dust bowl dirt\, the Gothic Americana music of the Heathen Apostles harkens back to a bygone chapter of American history. Using contrasting influences such as Bauhaus\, Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds and The Pogues along with Howlin’ Wolf\, Loretta Lynn (the band covers her classic Fist City) and Bessie Smith\, the Heathen Apostles have created a style of music that will conjure both angels and demons\, and will enlighten a darkened soul. \nForming the band together in 2013\, Mather Louth (Radio Noir) and rock n roll veteran Chopper Franklin (The Cramps\, Mau Maus\, Nick Curran & the Lowlifes) quickly uncovered a mutual appreciation for murder balladry\, Americana\, and memento mori. The landscape was further tilled with the addition of Luis Mascaro on violin. \nTheir 6 critically acclaimed albums\, along with their many EPs and singles (their release The Fall was named Best EP of 2018 by Folk n Rock magazine)\, capture the essence of the Heathen Apostles modus operandi: Southern Gothic Americana imagery surrounded by haunting\, minor-chord melodies\, musical influences including Gothic Roots music\, Bluegrass\, Blues\, and Gypsy Jazz\, all deftly bound together by the band’s dark and sometimes brooding sense of a bygone age. \nMost recently\, the band completed tours of both mainland Europe as well as the UK in support of their latest release\, The In Between\, with plans to return for two tours in 2026 in support of their forthcoming EP. \nPlease note this is an 18+ all-standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. This led to a meteoric rise in T’pau’s fortunes at home and in the USA\, where the track stayed on the US Billboard Chart for six months. After a European Arena Tour supporting Bryan Adams and another UK Tour of their own\, T’pau’s next single China In Your Hand stayed at No1 for five weeks – the longest serving No1 of the year. \nSimultaneously\, their debut album Bridge of Spies occupied the No1 album slot for two weeks and went on to become a certified quadruple platinum in the UK – selling 1.2 million copies. Their own arena concerts followed\, and the subsequent 1988 record Rage also went platinum. The evening will feature an intimate up close and personal event with an onstage live interview plus an audience Q&A hosted by former ITV presenter\, Jon Monie. \nExpect fun\, laughter and the possibility of an impromptu game of Mallett’s Mallet! \nTimmy began presenting on our television screens with the brand-new Wide Awake Club in 1984\, alongside Michaela Strachan. In 1985\, Timmy was offered the chance to present a spin-off of Wide Awake Club\, called Wacaday. The programme was characterised by games such as the now classic “Mallett’s Mallet” \nSince then Timmy has hosted many successful shows and regularly makes guest appearances on other programmes where his entertaining opinions\, loud looks and good humour make him a popular guest. \nWith West End show producer Andrew Lloyd Webber\, Timmy Mallett formed the “band” Bombalurina\, reaching number 1 in the official UK charts whilst topping the charts in more than a dozen countries around the world. He’s worked with George Martin and featured in Skepta’s music video for the hit song\, ‘Rolex Sweep’ accompanying Skepta at the MOBO awards. \nTimmy is an accomplished artist who has had his work exhibited at various art galleries; enjoys cult status among students and young adults\, has sat on every seat at Man Utd and City; owns over 87 pairs of specs; built a pole house on the great barrier reef\, cycled thousands of miles around the coastline of England and Ireland. We offer fun and dynamic classes\, taught by trained musicians\, using the Kodaly approach. Children (and usually parents!) learn about the fundamentals of music: pulse\, pitch\, rhythm and tempo. \nLittle Piccolos’ goal is to develop a musical ear\, foster creativity and collaboration\, and make music accessible to under 5’s\, with the voice as the primary instrument.\nRISE Frome offers the perfect venue for our groups\, accommodating up to 10 children\, to achieve this each week. \nClasses are £6.50 each session\, per child for the duration of the school term.
