SUMMARY:The Phogues – St Patricks Celebration
DESCRIPTION:In the mid to late 1980s\, The Pogues were one of the wildest and most talked-about bands of the era. They crashed punk rock headlong into Irish Folk\, lyrically ignited by singer/songwriter Shane MacGowan’s brutal yet romantic observations on life at the dog end of the Thatcher revolution. Full of spirit\, in both senses of the word\, there was simply no other band like them. \nWith a full line-up and the pick of the songs from five studio albums\, The Phogues pay tribute to the greatest Irish band that Ireland never produced. Like the original\, the eight members of the Phogues come from all over the place. Also like the Pogues\, some have Irish heritage; others don’t. What unites them is supreme musical skill and a desire to honour Shane’s songs and the band that gave them to the world. \nThe Phogues have live experience ranging from Somerset’s famous cider pubs to the internationally famous Sidmouth Folk Festival. They bring verve\, energy and authenticity to every show they play\, backed up by songs including ‘Sally McLennane’\, ‘The Irish Rover’\, ‘Thousands Are Sailing’\, ‘Streams Of Whiskey’ and\, of course\, the greatest Christmas song ever written\, ‘Fairytale of New York’ – which they’ll happily play even on a boiling hot summer’s Afternoon. \nThe Phogues will sweep your audience back to the days when Guinness was 50p a pint\, the racing was on the telly in the corner of the boozer and there was always an ‘oul fella’ at the bar\, sharing his wit and wisdom. Happy\, raucous times brought right into the present by no less than the best Pogues tribute band in the UK. \nAnd if you don’t believe us\, Shane MacGowan himself said of The Phogues\, “It’s brilliant.” \nPogue Mahone!!

SUMMARY:Los Pacaminos ft. Paul Young
DESCRIPTION:Los Pacaminos is a Tex-Mex band that was formed by pop star Paul Young in 1992 during a break in his music career. The band originally consisted of six members\, including guitarist Jamie Moses\, accordion/keyboard player Matt Irving\, songwriter Drew Barfield\, bassist Steve Greetham\, and drummer Mark Pinder. They played their first gig at a local pub in Richmond in November of that year and continued to perform together\, growing tighter as friends and musicians with each show. \nAlthough the band was formed as a side project\, they started writing their own songs and it became clear that this was not going to be a short-term venture. In 1997\, pedal steel player Melvin Duffy was added to the lineup after a suggestion from Jamie\, and he quickly became a permanent member of the band. \nIn 2002\, Los Pacaminos released their first album\, which was a collection of 12 original songs that drew inspiration from their Tex-Mex influences\, including the Texas Tornados\, The Sir Douglas Quintet\, Flaco Jimenez\, as well as Ry Cooder\, Calexico\, Roy Orbison\, The Band and Chuck Berry. The album received positive reviews and helped to establish the band’s reputation as a force to be reckoned with in the Tex-Mex music scene. \nOver the years\, Los Pacaminos has faced some challenges\, including the loss of founder member Matt Irving to cancer in 2015. However\, the band continues to thrive and explore the music of the Southwest. Now together for over 30 years and with an unmatched live reputation\, as well as two acclaimed studio albums and two live albums to their name\, they are releasing their 3rd studio album of original songs. Los Pacaminos show nosigns of stopping anytime soon.

SUMMARY:The London African Gospel Choir (Graceland 40th Anniversary)
DESCRIPTION:THE LONDON AFRICAN GOSPEL CHOIR PERFORM PAUL SIMON’S ‘GRACELAND’ – *40TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW* \nThis 17 strong ensemble will be live\, delivering the Graceland album from start to finish. After coming across a bootleg cassette of South African township music in the early 80s\, Paul Simon was totally smitten by the infectious & irresistible rhythms. He travelled to Johannesburg\, spending two weeks there\, recording with the absolute cream of South African musicians. \nThat epic session\, went on to form the basis of Simon’s most commercially successful album ever – Graceland. The record became a true global phenomenon\, winning Grammys in both 1987 & 88\, shifting 5 million copies Stateside & then another 2.5 million copies in the UK alone. As it blew up worldwide\, the Graceland album spawned the hit singles\, ‘Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes’\, ‘The Boy in the Bubble’ & it’s biggest smash – ‘You Can Call Me Al.’ \nThe London African Gospel Choir are a collective of African singers\, musicians & dancers. They have quite literally performed with everyone who’s anyone\, including Annie Lennox & John Legend\, as well as gaining plaudits from Paul Simon himself. The total richness & harmony of the Choir’s rhythmic\, uplifting\, evocative & empowering voices\, create an overwhelming musical event. Ask anyone lucky enough to have experienced this astonishing show last time they were here & believe what you hear… \n‘To compare this show to anything else – would be like trying to measure love\, or joy\, with a ruler.’

SUMMARY:Chloe Foy – Live At The Tree House
DESCRIPTION:With her strikingly beautiful voice and emotionally direct songwriting\, Chloe Foy has a penchant for finding magic in the spaces between light and dark. Growing up in the quiet of the English countryside\, it was through music that she first learned how to express the nuance of emotion. Her songs are a reflection of that stillness\, woven with threads of vulnerability and longing. Her lyrics speak to the complexity of the human experience — love\, loss\, and the subtle daily battles we all fight. With a voice that’s as delicate as it is powerful\, she creates music that speaks to the heart. \nChloe Foy introduced herself to the world with her 2021 debut\, Where Shall We Begin. A rich and meticulously put together debut\, the album received rave reviews from the likes of The Sunday Times\, Clash and The Line of Best Fit. Tracks from the album regularly featured on BBC 6 Music\, with support coming from Guy Garvey and Radcliffe & Maconie. With the album charting in the UK Folk Chart Top 40\, Chloe truly cemented herself as an artist that flies the flag for the independent singer-songwriter with skill and finesse. \nChloe’s anticipated follow up Complete Fool\, due 6th June via Kartel Music Group\, captures a deepened\, richer sound; merging rock-tinged folk with classic strings and layered vocals that she is becoming known for. \nComplete Fool explores real love and puts a microscope to the finer details of what it means to love long-term. The album isn’t afraid to ask difficult questions. What is the cost of a long-term relationship? How do you balance divergent ambitions and priorities? Do we lose parts of ourselves in the process of falling in love? The answer lies in this beautiful\, poignant\, yet celebratory tribute to real life and real love. \nWhere Shall We Begin Album Reviews: \n“8/10 – It’s rare that an album is ten years in the making\, and honing that much emotion and experience into roughly 41 minutes is a monumental task. Chloe Foy accomplished it.” CLASH Magazine \n“9/10 – 10 years in the making\, it’s certainly been worth the wait.” – Gigwise \n“9/10 – A charming body of work\, Where Shall We Begin is a must listen”– The Line of Best Fit \n“7/10 – A collection of great intimacy and tenderness” – Uncut \nPlease note this is an 18+ all standing event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift. SUMMARY:The Allergies (DJ Set) – Live At The Tree House
DESCRIPTION:“The Allergies music is big\, bouncy and fat! Just how I like my funk” – Craig Charles\, BBC 6 Music. \nIf you like crazy turntable skills\, and hands-in-the-air beats\, all mixed up with some classy crowd-rocking music\, then an Allergies double-decking DJ set will be right up your street. “We like breaks\, funky basslines\, horns\, and dancefloor grooves. We’re inspired by the golden eras of funk\, soul\, disco and hip-hop\, and we try and cram that into three and a half minutes”. \nThe duo of DJ Moneyshot and Rackabeat have been delighting dancefloors and lighting up the radio airwaves since forming The Allergies and releasing their debut album in 2016. \nYear in\, year out\, they’ve sharpened their skills on the turntables and in the studio\, dropping one dynamite record after another. \nTouring the world\, clocking up A List status and Album of the Day gongs at BBC Radio 6 Music\, as well as soundtracking international ad campaigns\, the pair show no sign of stopping the fun. \nAfter consecutive top 40 albums\, the boys just dropped number seven – Freak The Speaker. \nAs usual\, the Bristol-based beatmakers have assembled a crack team to help bring their loops to life. LA rap legend\, Andy Cooper (Ugly Duckling) is back on board\, alongside the mighty pipes of Marietta Smith (House Gospel Choir). And British sax institution\, James Morton – Also all staples of The Allergies live show act. \nPlus\, guest spots from some super special MCs and vocalists from both sides of The Pond including Brooklyn’s own hip-hop heavyweight\, Ohmega Watts. Mercury Prize winner\, Dynamite MC. Afro futurist\, K.O.G. Welsh rap talent\, Skunkadelic. And British hip-hop veteran\, Dr Syntax. \nIt continues to build on what first bonded the pair\, after meeting on the festival circuit – A love of funk and hip-hop\, and the great melting pot that makes up the music. \nMoneyshot had already made a name for himself as a resident on Ninja Tune’s Solid Steel radio. Gaining worldwide fame for his DJ mixes\, with Rolling Stone magazine ranking him in their ’25 Greatest Internet DJ Mixes of All Time’ feature. \nAnd Rackabeat\, a successful drum ’n’ bass producer\, had already banged out a string of releases\, including remixing dance music royalty like Groove Armada. \nMixing this keen ear for a sample\, and some polished studio know-how\, provided the perfect formula for The Allergies sound. Inspired by producers like Cut Chemist\, Public Enemy’s Bomb Squad\, and the kaleidoscopic sampledelica of acts like The Avalanches and vintage De La Soul\, they raid the past to make music for the future. \nClassic tracks from their back catalogue like ‘God Walked Down’\, ’Felony’ and ‘Every Trick In The Book’\, which continue to rack up tens of millions of plays\, are prime examples of The Allergies vision – To take dusty grooves from forgotten wax and pull out soulful hooks\, add hip-hop energy and driving drums\, to make something new and exciting that hits your heart\, as much as it does your dancing feet. \nPlease note this is an 18+ event\, and the venue is accessed by stairs with no lift.
