DESCRIPTION:Mashing their own brew of pop-punk and folk since 2013\, the five-piece continue on their mission to provide merriment and moshing to the masses by relentlessly touring the UK and Europe. \nDrawing inspiration from their favourite punk bands growing up\, matched with their long affinity to folk legends\, the fusion had formed. With the driving force of drums\, bass and high energy guitar\, they meet unwavering banjo\, mandolin and tin whistle melodies\, and all stand equally on the battlefield. \nThe debut album ‘Taking Chances’ was released in 2017\, with the sophomore album ‘Comedies and Tragedies’ being released three years later during the first lockdown of 2020. Newest release ‘The Only Life Worth Living’ came out to the masses in 2023 boasting four singles\, including one featuring guest vocalist Hannah Greenwood of Creeper. All three releases were released independently and were produced and mixed by Lewis Johns of The Ranch. \nTo date the band’s UK festival appearances include Cropredy\, WOMAD\, Boomtown\, Beautiful Days\, Belladrum\, Black Deer\, Camp Bestival along with hundreds of smaller UK festivals and beyond\, also venturing into Germany\, Belgium\, Switzerland\, The Netherlands\, Czech Republic and France. \nIn both 2016 and 2018\, Black Water County won their place on Fireball’s ‘Fuelling the Fire Tour’ supporting Less Than Jake\, Flogging Molly\, The Bronx and The Skints. They subsequently featured in Kerrang!’s online coverage of the tour\, received an endorsement from Fireball UK and also appeared on BBC radio stations with the single ‘Rise and Fall’. \n‘Ultimately though\, it was Black Water County who landed themselves a place on the stage with Flogging Molly.. DESCRIPTION:Hear this y’all: \nLegend has it the original Wilbury brothers from Nashville\, Tennessee\, were plying their trade as a good ol’ Country band one night in Tootsie’s Bar\, when who should walk in but George Harrison from The Beatles and his old pal JeD Lynne outta the ELO. After a few beers\, George and JeD decided they loved the Wilbury boys and called up some of their friends\, inviting them downtown to hear for themselves. Those friends turned out to be Roy Orbison\, that Tom Petty out of the Heartbreakers\, and Bobby Dylan himself. \nThe story goes that\, after the show\, the famous five wanted to hang out with the shy and retiring Unravelling Wilburys.  They all got pretty drunk\, and it seemed like the Wilbury brothers had got their big break when Tom Petty allegedly said they should all work together. \nSix months went by and the Wilburys heard nothing. Then one day they was passing a record store and heard one of their own songs playing on the hi- fi. “Who’s this playing our song?” they said to the guy behind the counter. “Why\, it’s a new supergroup\,” the guy replied. “They call themselves The Traveling Wilburys.” \nYes folks\, it seems the Traveling Wilburys became a tribute band to our home-spun originals. \nWell\, a few years and more passed and finally the Unravelling Wilburys decided to ‘reclaim’ those songs\, putting together a set of all the hits and the best stuD Dylan\, Petty\, Orbison\, Lynne and Harrison could muster between ’em. Then they headed for the UK. The folks there ain’t got much of a clue about Country music and took to ’em straight away. \nPretty soon they was travelling all over the country\, from the Orkney Islands to the Isle of Wight; from Penzance to Perth; from Southwold to South Wales; packing out theatres along the way in towns whose names they’d never heard of and couldn’t pronounce. \nThe show features the best of the Wilbury albums (“Handle with Care”; “The End of the Line”; “The Devil’s Been Busy”; “Tweeter & The Monkey Man” etc.) and some of their supposedly thievin’ counterparts’ numbers like “Only the Lonely”; Won’t Back Down”; “While my Guitar Gently Weeps”; “Like a Rollin’ Stone” and “Mr. Blue Sky”. The act even contains the kind of comedy only a band spending too many nights in Travelodge hotels could dream up. \nThe Unravelling Wilburys are now so popular they even got to be a question on that TV show “The Chase”. Now that’s fame…even if it ain’t fortune. \nSo- Ladies and Gentlemen\, turn on your hearing aid\, put your Zimmer frame to one side and prepare for a musical journey with Walter\, Blind Melon\, Sticky Willy\, Thumper and the Reverend Honky Tonk Wilbury. The band funded the album through a huge independent crowdfunding campaign\, showing how deeply loved they are by their ever-growing global fan base. \nBeloved on the festival scene\, they’ve played main stages across Europe including Glastonbury (Avalon and Glade)\, Lorient Festival Interceltique (FR)\, Beautiful Days\, Sidmouth Folk Festival\, Shrewsbury Folk Festival\, Boomtown\, Fairport’s Cropredy Convention\, Bearded Theory\, Bern Buskers (CH)\, Costa Del Folk Ibiza\, and Folk Segovia (ES)\, alongside support slots for The Levellers\, Hawkwind\, Oysterband and The Cat Empire. \nThe band have been featured across European media — including a live concert screening on France 3 and appearances on Celtic TV — and interviewed on Radio Tres (Madrid) and Radio Balises (Brittany). \nIn the UK\, 3 Daft Monkeys have been personally invited to perform live sessions on both Bob Harris and Mark Radcliffe’s BBC Radio 2 shows\, with Mark Radcliffe hailing their live show as one of his “Highlights of Glastonbury.” This multi-award-winning independent act deliver dynamic\, rampageous\, powerful headline performances of their completely original songs\, with endless energy and enthusiasm.
