SUMMARY:NT Live: All My Sons
DESCRIPTION:Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Hard Truths) feature in a five-star\, triumphantly acclaimed new production of Arthur Miller’s classic play\, from visionary director Ivo Van Hove (A View from the Bridge). \nOne family\, the heart of the American dream. When wartime delivers profits for Joe\, it comes at a price when his partner is charged with criminal manufacturing deals\, and his eldest son goes missing in action. Will peacetime bring peace of mind\, or will he be confronted by the consequence of his actions? \nFilmed live from the West End\, Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You)\, Tom Glynn-Carney (House of the Dragon)\, and Hayley Squires (I\, Daniel Blake) also feature in this disturbingly prescient play.

SUMMARY:Dress Up Friday - The Coat of Hopes - Frome Connects May 2026
DESCRIPTION:On the first of May as part of the Frome Connects project and the ongoing weekly “Dress Up Fridays”\, we are welcoming the Coat of Hopes to the Boyle Cross in the centre of Frome.\nThe Coat of Hopes is a patchwork coat on an ongoing walking pilgrimage through the UK towards the end of the climate and ecological emergency.\nIt has been made by and worn and walked by many hundreds of people on a journey on foot of over 2000 miles so far. It carries people’s hopes for the places they live\, sewn into the blanket patches of which it is made.\nAll who encounter it are invited to wear it and (whilst the Coat song is sung) take a moment to be conscious of themselves at this time\, standing in connection with all those who have made or worn the Coat before them and with the life and land it has witnessed on its way.\nWe will meet at the fountain to honour the coat and all it stands for – connecting with ourselves\, our community and the planet. \nTake a look at a short video about the Coat of Hopes here.

SUMMARY:A Portrait Of The Menopause Book by Catrin Osborne Launch
DESCRIPTION:Thursday 21st May\, 7pm\, Frome Town Hall (in association with Winstone’s Books) \nWhen Catrin Osborne\, a multidisciplinary artist born in Trowbridge\, experienced menopause and it hit her “like a ton of bricks”\, she decided to find out what other women going through it were experiencing. \nHer quest took 3 years\, travelling all over the UK and asking people about the positives and negatives of this time in their lives. \nThe result was an exhibition which toured the UK with portraits and interviews\, and is now a photography book with stories from the women – in their words – published by Black Dog Press. \nIt acknowledges the first-hand experiences of 80 women and people who are experiencing menopause. All too often misunderstood by doctors and society\, they share their first-hand accounts of physical and mental symptoms\, of shame and isolation\, but also of discovery\, strength and newfound freedom. \n“Visionary and just bad ass” Shaena – participant. Circus performer and director of Pirates Of The Carabina \n“Moving and meaningful.. SUMMARY:Kate Bush Flash Mob
DESCRIPTION:As part of the wider “Frome Connects” project in May\, Mojo Moves founder Ginny Adams is hosting a free to attend Kate Bush Flash Mob on the town’s famous Catherine Hill. \nDress up as the legend that is Bush (in the Running Up That Hill video) and join us for an impromptu dance on the hill to the track “Running Up That Hill”.\nYou can come as you are and just do your own thing or learn the simple choreography which will be offered at live rehearsals throughout May\, as well as being available on video via the Facebook event and on the Mojo Moves website. No actual running required. \nAfter the track has played once through\, we will head down the hill along Palmer Street and to the entrance of the formidable St John’s Church where head bell ringer Tony Hodges will lead his fellow campanologists in ringing out the tune – which has seen a resurgence due to cult TV show Stranger Things – on the bells which date back to the 17th and 18th Centuries! Ding dong! \nCome and join us and be a part of something legendary. \nFrome Connects is a town-wide\, people-powered experiment built around connectedness.

SUMMARY:Whole town drone shot - Frome Connects
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Frome Connects project\, we have organised for the hugely talented photographer Chris Bailey to take a town wide drone photograph shot on Saturday the 30th May at around 12.30. \nThe idea is for as many residents\, shop workers\, pub goers and anyone else visiting the town at the time\, heads out of their buildings and look skywards so that we can capture them for posterity. We obviously also invite anyone who doesn’t live in the town centre to head into town for the pic to be taken.\nThink of it like looking for the solar eclipse\, a collective lifting of heads to see beyond your everyday existence and help to create a photographic document of a moment captured in time. \nWe hope to be able to offer pre-ordered prints for sale after the event so you can play “Where’s Wally” trying to spot your friends\, family\, yourself\, the dog and maybe even Frodo the town cat. \nCome on Frome! Get behind this. It will be such a cool thing to do! \nPhoto: Chris Bailey
