Growing Organisations with Purpose: Business Development in the Community Sector

A 2-day introductory training in business development for small voluntary, community and social enterprises. This training is tailored to people who are interested in building purposeful careers and would like to work in social enterprises or voluntary organisations in Frome or surrounding areas.
The aim is to:
  • equip participants with an understanding of how different community organisations and businesses have grown and developed in Frome
  • share successes and failures to identify the principles of sustainable initiatives
  • help develop skills required for growing community organisations.
We will also cover topics including:
  • trading arms
  • funding & fundraising
  • partnerships
  • research & tools for developing new ideas
  • approaches to problem-solving within existing initiatives
Dates & Times
9.30-2.30 on Tues 4 and Wed 5 June.
You will also be asked to attend the Edventure Tour on Mon 4 June.
Facilitators:

Johannes Moeller is a facilitator, consultant, social entrepreneur and the co-founder and Managing Director of Edventure: Frome – a school for community enterprise. His work is is focused on supporting people to catalyse positive change in their own lives, organisations and society, and to build meaningful livelihoods. He started several leadership courses for young adults, including the Apprenticeship programme and Catalyst course at Embercombe. As a facilitator and consultant, he worked with various organisations, ranging from a domestic abuse charity in Wiltshire to a global network of entrepreneurs in China

Contributors from local organisations to be confirmed in January 2019. 

Ticket Price & Requirements:

Please register your interest here – we will contact you early 2019 with a short application form to the course. This event is free to Somerset residents thanks to funding from Somerset Skills & Learning. Booking is essential.
