Green Gym

A fun and free outdoor session where you will be guided in practical activities such as planting trees, sowing meadows and establishing wildlife ponds.

Unlike other conservation projects, the emphasis is very much on health and fitness – volunteers warm-up and cool down in preparation for a range of light to vigorous activities to suit all abilities.

No experience is necessary, guidance is provided and all questions are welcomed! Work at your own pace in a relaxed environment and choose between activities suited to all levels of fitness.

We start and end each activity with gentle exercises and stretches, and stop halfway through the session to enjoy a drink and make time for a chat.

We can’t offer refreshments at the moment due to Covid-19 so please bring a flask and a snack. If you have your own tools please bring them, if not they will be provided. Please bring your own gloves and come dressed for the weather (including sturdy footwear and sunhats).

Green Gym is a partnership between Future Shed and Frome Field 2 Fork – a beautiful growing space just 30 minutes walk from Frome town center. Sessions run every Sunday afternoon between 2pm and 5pm from June 13th to July 20th.

At the current time, all participants must be a minimum of 18 years old. We are not yet able to welcome children to these sessions, but we are working on that!

Future Shed is run by Edventure Frome as part of the Green & Healthy Future for Frome partnership project with Frome Town Council and Frome Medical Practice. It is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
