Fundraising for Non-Rocket-Scientists

25th Nov 2019 @ 09:30 - 14:30

Do you think it takes something special to successfully fundraise? If so, come along to this hands-on workshop to break into the mysteries of funding and glean some whistle-stop tips for getting results.  Get practical input as we support each other to come up with an action plan to fit each of our causes to take away at the end of the workshop. No knowledge of theoretical physics necessary.

This Edventure Short Course is led by Ruth Knagg, a fundraiser with 25 years experience for a range of charities and Frome community initiatives.  She will bring real examples from causes you have heard of. Please come along with your own great cause for which you could use some help raising funds.

Facilitators:  Johannes Moeller & Ruth Knagg:

Ruth has worked on both sides of the fence, both fundraising and funding. She is currently Fundraising Manager (Grants and Philanthropy) for We Hear You. She was responsible for fundraising for Whatcombe Fields and for Action on Disability and Development. She sits on the Board of the Andrews Charitable Trust and in the past has assessed funding bids to Frome Town Council.

Johannes is Co-Founder and Managing Director of Edventure Frome – A School for Community Enterprise. He will draw on his experience of supporting people to set up small ‘making’ businesses in Frome, with examples of what worked and what didn’t.

What to Bring

Please bring a pen & paper, a packed lunch.

The courses are always well-run, really interesting and accessible. I’m always amazed by the quality and experience of the teachers. I’m doing three courses at the moment – all brilliant”.
