The Power of Music

26th Jan 2017 @ 18:00 - 21:00

On Thursday 26 January 2017, the third Frome event hosted by the Royal Society of Arts will feature Professor Susan Hallam, author of the acclaimed report “The Power of Music”:

Further information about Professor Hallam and her research is given below.

All RSA Frome events are free and open to all, with refreshments provided and a home-cooked meal available for a small charge. The location is Trinity Hall, Trinity Street, Frome BA11 3DE (www.holytrinityfrome.info), which has full disabled access. Drive up from Gould’s Ground to use the free car park. Doors open at 6pm for a start time of 6:30pm, and the event finishes at 9pm.

Background to the RSA Frome event series is available on the RSA website (www.thersa.org/discover/publications-and-articles/rsa-blogs/2016/012/rsa-frome-1#_edn1). The first two events, in May 2016 on use of heritage for wellbeing and in September 2016 on community prosperity for the 21st century, attracted large audiences and there was lively discussion with the speakers. Since Professor Hallam’s research is so wide-ranging, this meeting will focus on her talk and there will be ample time for Q&A.

The event will also include live funk, choral and traditional folk music from local musicians and students.

If you would like more information about RSA Frome and/or this event, please contact Keith Harrison-Broninski by telephone (07917 284434) or email (keith@harrison-broninski.info).

Schools, colleges, universities, orchestras, music teachers, councils, and other local organisations with an interest in music education will be particularly interested in this event and are welcome to make contact beforehand, for example if they wish to enquire about capacity.
